The construction industry remains one of the most hazardous sectors globally, with Nigeria experiencing a high incidence of workplace accidents despite the adoption of Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM) frameworks. This study evaluated the effectiveness of OHSM practices in improving workplace safety across construction companies in Nigeria’s coastal cities. A cross-sectional design was employed, combining quantitative surveys of construction workers (n = 1,400) with qualitative interviews of 35 managers and supervisors. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS version 28, while thematic analysis was applied to qualitative responses. Findings revealed a generally positive perception of OHSM, with 54.4% of workers rating OHS policy effectiveness as “Good” and 52.0% rating health outcomes as “Good.” However, accident frequency remained a concern, with 46.4% reporting accidents occurred “Occasionally” and 31.9% acknowledging them as “Frequent” or “Very Frequent.” Comparative analysis showed indigenous firms were rated higher in policy effectiveness and health outcomes but also reported slightly higher accident frequencies than international firms. Thematic analysis identified five key monitoring and evaluation strategies including routine inspections, regular training, audits, behavioural reinforcement, and access control, Also, five measures of OHSM effectiveness, including compliance observation, incident tracking, KPIs, employee feedback, and benchmarking. OHSM was found to positively influence project outcomes by reducing compensation costs, enhancing reputation, and improving supervision and quality of work. OHSM practices in Nigeria’s construction sector are perceived as effective in policy and health outcomes, yet accident rates remain a critical challenge. The study underscores the importance of continuous training, stricter enforcement, behavioural reinforcement, and systematic performance evaluation.

<b>Objective:</b> This systematic review aimed to identify, synthesize, and critically analyze the available evidence on clinical protocols used for the prevention and treatment of prosthetic joint infection (PJI) in total hip arthroplasty (THA), based on studies published between 2000 and 2025. <b>Methods:</b><b> </b>The review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Electronic searches were performed in PubMed (MEDLINE), Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase between January and April 2025. Eligible studies included clinical trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published in English that addressed either preventive or therapeutic strategies for PJI in THA. Study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment were carried out independently by two reviewers. Due to the heterogeneity of the included studies, a qualitative synthesis was performed. <b>Results:</b><b> </b>A total of 32 studies were included. Preventive measures identified in the literature comprised combined antibiotic prophylaxis (cefazolin and gentamicin), multimodal perioperative protocols such as ACERTO, nasal decolonization for <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i>, silver-impregnated dressings, and structured post-discharge surveillance. Treatment strategies included DAIR (Debridement, Antibiotics, and Implant Retention), the DAPRI technique, one-stage and two-stage revision surgeries, muscle flap reconstructions, and protocols without spacers. These interventions were associated with significantly reduced infection rates and improved clinical outcomes when applied appropriately and in accordance with patient-specific factors. <b>Conclusion:</b><b> </b>Effective prevention and treatment of PJI in total hip arthroplasty require a systematic and evidence-based approach. Integrated protocols—spanning preoperative optimization, meticulous intraoperative techniques, and rigorous postoperative monitoring—have proven effective in reducing infection incidence. In cases of established infection, surgical management must be tailored to the timing of infection, microbial profile, and host conditions. Two-stage revision remains the gold standard for complex infections, while one-stage revision and emerging techniques like DAPRI offer promising results in selected cases. This review contributes to the standardization of clinical practice and supports improved patient outcomes.

This review article provides a comprehensive anatomical analysis of soccer footwear, delving into the intricate structure and functional roles of its constituent components, including the upper, heel counter, tongue, toe box, outsole/sole plate, studs, and insole. Manufacturing processes influencing these structural elements are also discussed. Current market offerings and patented innovations in soccer cleat technology are examined through a biomechanical lens, highlighting their intended functions and limitations. A critical synthesis of existing knowledge underscores the anatomical and biomechanical distinctions between male and female athletes' feet, arguing for the necessity of sex-specific footwear design. This review culminates in emphasizing the imperative for specifically engineered soccer footwear for female athletes to optimize performance, enhance comfort, and mitigate the elevated risk of lower extremity injuries prevalent in the female game, thereby identifying crucial directions for future research in sports biomechanics and footwear engineering.

(1) <b>Background</b>: Psychological flexibility, the ability to adapt to changing demands while staying true to personal values, is linked to better health behaviors. However, its relationship with cardiovascular health behaviors, particularly in Filipino populations, remains underexplored. (2) <b>Aim</b>: This study aimed to examine the relationship between psychological flexibility and cardiovascular health behaviors among outpatients in Rizal, Philippines, focusing on BMI, smoking, physical activity, and dietary habits. (3) <b>Methods</b>: A cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational design was used with 100 outpatient participants from selected hospitals. Psychological flexibility was measured using the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (AAQ-II), and cardiovascular health behaviors were assessed using a modified version of the American Heart Association’s Life Simple 7 tool. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation were applied. (4) <b>Results</b>: The findings showed that respondents had neutral levels of psychological flexibility. While most exhibited intermediate BMI and physical activity, dietary habits varied. A significant positive correlation was found between psychological flexibility and whole grain consumption. However, no significant associations were found with BMI, smoking, or physical activity. (5) <b>Conclusions</b>: Psychological flexibility appears to influence specific health behaviors, such as dietary choices, but does not strongly correlate with other cardiovascular health behaviors. Further research is needed to explore its broader role in cardiovascular disease prevention.

The anterior collateral ligament (ACL) is one of four ligaments in the knee, connecting the tibia and femur and acting as a key stabilizer. Factors influencing these injuries include playing surface, training programs, athlete strength, technique, and gender. Female athletes are at a higher risk of ACL injuries, being four to nine times more likely than males, often due to differences in biomechanics and training patterns. It ss important that rehab focuses on both legs, as overworking the injured leg increases the risk of injuries elsewhere. Prevention training, such as proprioceptive-balance and plyometric agility training, has been shown effectiveness in minimizing ACL injuries. Despite some limitations in research, these programs highlight the importance of improved training techniques. Kinesio taping might help reduce pain but lacks strong evidence for preventing ACL tears.

<b>Background</b>: The increasing prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is closely tied to complications, particularly diabetic foot ulcers, which significantly raise the risk of lower extremity amputations due to infected, non-healing ulcers. This study aimed to assess diabetic foot prevention knowledge, practices and associated factors among patients at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), Banjul. <b>Methods:</b> In this cross-sectional study, we employed a convenience sampling technique to enroll 357 diabetic patients, both inpatients and outpatients, who were under the care of EFSTH. Data on diabetic foot prevention were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted by trained interviewers. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS, encompassing descriptive analysis, chi-square, Fisher exact tests, and logistic regression. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05, with a 95% confidence interval. <b>Results: </b>The mean age of the respondents was 47.3 years (±10.5), with women comprising 55.2% of the study population and 94.4% were married. About 73% demonstrated good knowledge of diabetic foot care and prevention, while 25.8% exhibited fair knowledge. A significant association was observed in bivariate analysis with patients’ educational level (P = 0.032). Specifically, patients with Madarasa (Arabic) education had a 68% lower likelihood 【aOR: 0.320, 95% CI: (0.103, 0.992), p = 0.048】 of practicing diabetic foot care and prevention compared to those with tertiary education. <b>Conclusion</b>: The study revealed that participants’ knowledge of preventing diabetic foot was high. However, the practice was poor. Therefore, there is a need for more health education on the practices that would emphasize diabetes management among diabetes patients.

Background:<b> </b>This work is a report of the present situation and management of Corona Virus (CoV) infection in the Principality of Monaco. Methods: To comply with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and neighboring Countries in this area, residents infected by CoV are the object of this health report. The Prince’s Government also communicates the data relating to screening. These are stopped at Sunday January 1<SUP>st</SUP> included. Results: The results of this survey point out how this infection is still active in Monaco, although not at the emergency levels of 2020. Conclusions: These results call for not leaving prevention measures, both primary (vaccine) and secondary (personal protective equipment [PPE], social distancing, etc.) adopted until now and which gave so good results.

Today, non-governmental actors play an important role in the national and international arena. The geographical diversity of their field of activity and their different functions have made it impossible for government actors to be indifferent to the role of these new actors. NGOs act as “rival” or “partner” governments. In human rights, these organizations are more of a rival to governments; While on health, development, and the environment, they are considered more as partners of governments. In the Iranian legal system, the active role of these organizations in terms of environmental protection is undeniable; But there are still many gaps in the reaction phase; Appropriate conditions must be provided for the active participation of these actors in environmental litigation; In such a way that they can achieve their desired position in criminal proceedings as quasi-prosecutors.

Since the first outbreak of SARS-CoV2, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 in Wuhan, China in the December 2019, the world continues to be in state of fear, uncertainty, tension and anxiety till date and this state might continue because of emerging mutants. The vaccination drive all over the world is continuing, still the new variants are cause of concern, with the aim to prevent the spread of the virus, focus should be on techniques and processes which helps in strengthening our defense mechanism, the immune system. It has becoming clear from several studies that the immune system is greatly impacted by the COVID-19 infection through several inflammatory reactions. The role of balanced diet full of nutrients cannot be overlooked in controlling infectious diseases. A balanced diet which should include plant foods, vitamins and micronutrients and this review wants to emphasize on the preventive role played by the plant foods, vitamins and minerals in COVID-19 infections, to reduce the mortality rate as well as the morbidity in patients who are infected.

<b>Background</b>: Cancer surveillance data provide information on the incidence and trends of cancer in the population level. Analyzing cancer trends according to these characteristics plays an important role in cancer surveillance. Knowledge of the causes of cancer allow better prevent the appearance of it. A large number of epidemiological evidence supporting the effect of smoking on the causes of cancer there is strong evidence supporting a role for smoking in the etiology of cancers. Alcohol appears to interact with the tobacco significantly and can be considered a risk factor in the development of cancers. Obesity which is now well recognized as a public health problem increases the risk of developing cancers. All these factors are characterized by uncertainty, complexity and imprecision. <b>Methods</b><b>:</b> In this study, we propose an analysis of these factors based on the principles of fuzzy logic inference system. The data were collected from WHO data. As this technique addresses the uncertain, its application in this area is perfectly adequate. <b>Results</b>: A database is established, after the analysis system is done, it will be possible to read the prevalence of cancer by introducing randomly the values in inputs variables. <b>Conclusion</b>: like cancer has become a national scourge, this application allows predicting the impact of it just from the introduction inputs variables such as BMI, degree of physical activity, tobacco and sex.

Predictive modeling, supported by machine learning technology, aims to analyze data in order to guide decision-making towards actions generating desired values in the future. It encompasses the set of techniques used to build models that estimate the value of a certain variable predicting a forthcoming event from the past or current values of relevant attributes. In predictive healthcare modeling, the built models represent the relationship among the data concerning customer, provider, production, and other aspects of the healthcare environment in order to assist the decision processes in the prevention of diseases and in the planning of preventive actions by detection of high-risk patients. Contrary to trend analysis, whose goal is to describe past events, predictive models aim to provide useful indications regarding future events and changes. Predictive healthcare modeling supports actions that try to prevent the manifestation of diseases in healthy individuals or try to diagnose as early as possible the incidence of a disease in patients at risk. A sound predictive analysis encompasses not only the model-training task, but also the aspects of data quality, preprocessing, and fusion during its entire implementation lifecycle to ensure appropriate input data preparation. The robustness of the predictive model and its results depends highly on data quality. Due to the variety of data sources in healthcare environments, it becomes essential to use preprocessing in order to remove noise and inconsistencies. The increasing number of endorsable data exchange standards makes each data exchange achievable, but it demands the implementation of a data-governance program. In addition, the influence of the hospital-database architect on the architecture of an early-diagnosis model is important to guarantee appropriate input-formatting modularity.
