Heterotaxy syndrome comprises a group of congenital anomalies resulting from disrupted left-right axis patterning during embryonic development, leading to an abnormal arrangement of the thoracic and abdominal organs [1]. It is a rare condition, with an estimated prevalence of approximately 1 per 10,000 live births, and is frequently associated with complex congenital heart defects, making it a life-threatening disorder with significant morbidity and mortality [1]. Clinically, heterotaxy syndrome is classified into right atrial isomerism (Ivemark syndrome) and left atrial isomerism. Ivemark syndrome represents the most severe form and is primarily characterized by asplenia, complex cardiovascular anomalies, and abnormal positioning of the thoracoabdominal organs [2]. In this condition, paired organs exhibit right-sided morphology bilaterally, commonly accompanied by functionally univentricular physiology, extensive septal defects, dextrocardia, and extracardiac malformations such as intestinal malrotation and congenital absence of the spleen [2,3]. Asplenia is a hallmark feature that markedly increases susceptibility to overwhelming bacterial infections, while the associated congenital heart defects account for the high morbidity and mortality observed during the neonatal period [2]. Herein, we report the case of a male neonate with clinical and imaging findings consistent with Ivemark syndrome who experienced a rapidly progressive and fatal clinical course during the first week of life. A comprehensive review of the available literature identified only a limited number of published cases and scarce documented evidence. Therefore, this case report is supported primarily by the currently available international literature.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery has moved over the past two decades toward auditable systems of verification, as implant-based rehabilitation, digitally guided planning, and multi-operator procedures have multiplied the interfaces at which small deviations can escalate into irreversible harm. This narrative review examines that transformation through two recent monographs that occupy sequential positions in the field's move toward standardization. The first documents the contemporary technique base for regenerative and reconstructive procedures and its associated complication profile; the second converts that technique base into an explicit protocol architecture covering identity verification, planning-data validation, guidance-system tolerance, and documentation. The central claim of the second monograph, that checklist-based verification is the most consistently supported safety intervention available to the specialty, is corroborated here against an independent literature search; its treatment of digital and robotic precision, which frames accuracy as a governable tolerance rather than an inherent property of any device, likewise holds up against the accuracy literature. At the same time, several clinically consequential questions that this framework does not fully resolve, most notably the value of routine antibiotic prophylaxis in implant surgery, remain genuinely unsettled despite decades of trial evidence.

Knowledge work teams operating under variable demand face a class of delivery failure that single-layer governance models cannot prevent: structural overload injected at the commitment-formation boundary, invisible to execution-layer metrics, and amplified by cognitive fragmentation that standard workflow instruments do not register. This article examines the architectural conditions under which knowledge work control systems reduce cognitive load and improve delivery predictability. Through a grouped analytical review of empirical and theoretical literature on WIP-limit governance, team cognitive load, and observability-driven telemetry, the article identifies a shared structural limitation across all three bodies of research: none models the coupling between commitment formation, execution mode, and cognitive context as a single governed system. Drawing on control systems theory, queueing dynamics, and cognitive psychology, the article argues that delivery predictability degrades not from execution inefficiency but from the absence of cross-loop coupling rules that prevent obligation surplus, flow degradation, and cognitive fragmentation from reinforcing one another. The three-loop flow architecture comprising a Commit Loop with capacity-bounded intake, a Delivery Loop with explicit Normal, Overload, and Recovery operating modes, and a Cognition Loop enforcing context-capacity constraints through a Context Token Protocol is identified as a structural response to the documented failure modes of existing frameworks. The analytical contribution is a precise specification of the boundary conditions under which WIP-limit Kanban, team-topology design, and DORA-type telemetry each remain adequate, and the condition under which none of them does.

Objective: Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) has emerged as a widely accessible nonprescription substance that is being utilized in the United States. Kratom is commonly used for self-management of pain, psychiatric symptoms, and opioid withdrawal. Veterans receiving care within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) represent a high-risk population due to elevated rates of chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders (SUDs). Despite increasing prevalence, kratom use remains underrecognized and is not routinely assessed in clinical practice. This narrative review studies the pharmacology, patterns of use, and clinical implications of kratom among Veterans and proposes a standardized screening framework for implementation within the VHA. This will help to align with the patient centered care delivered to our Veterans related to mental health conditions often concurrent with substance use, pain management, and opioid safety. Methods: A targeted narrative review of the literature was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, and relevant federal agency reports. Search terms included “kratom,” “Mitragyna speciosa,” “substance use disorder,” “opioid withdrawal,” and “Veterans.” Articles were selected based on relevance to pharmacology, epidemiology, adverse effects, and clinical implications. Findings were synthesized and interpreted using DSM-5-TR substance use disorder criteria. Results: Kratom exhibits partial agonist activity at μ-opioid receptors, producing dose-dependent stimulant and opioid-like effects. According to the National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine, mu-opioid receptors, found in the brain and spinal cord, are primarily responsible for pain relief and other opioid-like effects such as euphoria and respiratory depression. Veterans frequently use kratom to self-manage pain, mood symptoms, and opioid withdrawal (Garcia-Romeu et al., 2020; Grundmann, 2017). Kratom use is associated with dependence, withdrawal, and increased risk of polysubstance use (Post et al., 2019). Detection remains limited due to lack of standardized screening tools and the absence of detection in routine toxicology panels. Conclusions: Given the rising incidence of kratom use among Veterans and associated clinical risks, implementation of a standardized screening within the VHA is an appropriate intervention. Incorporating DSM-5-TR-informed criteria into structured assessments can help improve early identification, enhance patient safety, and support evidence-based treatment strategies.

High-quality collaborative discourse is essential for deep learning in Problem-Based Learning (PBL). However, novice facilitators frequently struggle with topic drift, which occurs when discussions deviate from core learning objectives. Grounded in Cognitive Load Theory and instructional scaffolding, this paper analyzes the cognitive mechanisms behind topic drift in PBL. It identifies three typical deviation patterns: "Premature Resolution" (bypassing mechanistic deduction), "Detail Fixation" (over-engagement with peripheral details), and "Social Avoidance" (stemming from dysfunctional group dynamics). To address these patterns, this paper presents a literature-based facilitation guide offering specific intervention strategies and discursive prompts. These include mechanistic backtracking, metacognitive monitoring, and cognitive visualization. The study argues that effective pedagogical intervention relies on the strategic timing of facilitation rather than the immediate correction of factual errors. Ultimately, built on a foundation of relational trust, this process requires educators to shift their role from "epistemic authorities" to "cognitive coaches."

Background: Within contemporary medical education systems dominated by the biomedical paradigm, medical students commonly experience a decline in empathy alongside uncertainty in professional identity formation. Narrative medicine, as an educational approach designed to bridge objective technical reasoning and subjective human experience, has been proposed as a response to this humanistic crisis. However, the psychological mechanisms underlying its effects, the boundaries of existing empirical evidence, and strategies for systematic implementation remain insufficiently clarified. Content: Drawing on a comprehensive review of the literature, this article elucidates two core theoretical mechanisms through which narrative medicine operates. First, through the cycle of attention, representation, and affiliation combined with reflective practice, narrative medicine facilitates the coordinated development of cognitive empathy and emotional resonance. Second, through narrative integration, it supports learners in transforming fragmented clinical experiences into coherent professional identities. A synthesis of empirical studies published over the past decade indicates that well designed narrative medicine curricula can enhance reflective capacity, communication skills, and a sense of professional meaning, although their effectiveness is substantially moderated by curricular intensity, pedagogical modality including digital and multimodal approaches, and cultural context. Conclusion: The integration of narrative medicine currently faces structural barriers, including limited curricular space, the scarcity of standardized assessment tools, and insufficient faculty development. Future efforts should adopt implementation science frameworks to shift from isolated elective offerings toward longitudinal spiral curricula, develop multidimensional evaluation strategies, and explore the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality in narrative pedagogy. These efforts may establish narrative medicine as a foundational pathway for cultivating physicians with core humanistic competencies.

The gut-brain axis (GBA) has emerged as a central focus in the study of neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Research suggests that microbial composition and its metabolic byproducts influence neural development, synaptic plasticity, and behavior [1,2,3]. A structured bibliometric analysis of Scopus and Web of Science records was performed using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to trace trends and thematic evolution of GBA–ASD literature [7,8]. In parallel, a data-driven pathway modeling approach maps microbial metabolites (e.g., short-chain fatty acids, tryptophan catabolites) to host signaling pathways including vagal stimulation, immune cytokine modulation, and blood–brain barrier (BBB) permeability [4,5]. Simulations implemented in Python’s NetworkX illustrate how perturbations in metabolite flux may influence CNS outcomes. The findings reveal growing emphasis on butyrate, serotonin, microglial priming, and maternal immune activation in ASD-related GBA studies, and highlight the need for rigorous empirical validation of computational predictions [9,10,11].

Early-onset neurodegenerative diseases (EO-NDs), such as early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (EOAD), Parkinson’s disease (EOPD), and familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (fALS), often stem from monogenic causes and manifest before typical age thresholds. These disorders frequently feature disrupted mitochondrial function and heightened oxidative stress, which together accelerate neuronal damage and degeneration. In this work, the author performs a comprehensive analysis of the literature and data related to mitochondrial dysfunction and redox imbalance in EO-NDs. Bibliometric trends were assessed using R-based tools on PubMed datasets, highlighting keyword networks and publication surges in recent years. Publicly available RNA-seq datasets from GEO and SRA were examined, with example DESeq2 analysis illustrating altered mitochondrial gene expression in EO-ND patient-derived samples. Network modeling of redox pathways using Python’s networkx demonstrates how oxidative stress can propagate through metabolic networks. Together, these computational approaches reinforce that mitochondrial DNA mutations, impaired electron transport chain (ETC) function, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation play central roles in EO-ND pathogenesis. The discussion further evaluates why antioxidant clinical trials have largely failed and how emerging therapies such as gene replacement, antisense oligonucleotides, and mitochondrial biogenesis modulators may provide more effective interventions.

In this paper, we will examine a rather complex case of the paradoxical nature of certain conclusions that may arise when studying the numerical convergence of a specific nonlinear recursive sequence, known in the literature as Muller’s sequence. To analyze the peculiar computational behavior of this sequence, it is necessary to employ a powerful mathematical framework in order to understand the nontrivial issues that can arise when the software implementation of this seemingly simple mathematical problem. These challenges often stem from the limitations of numerical methods and the inherent errors in computer arithmetic, which can affect the accuracy and stability of the results, particularly when dealing with iterative methods like Muller's sequence.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to identify, synthesize, and critically analyze the available evidence on clinical protocols used for the prevention and treatment of prosthetic joint infection (PJI) in total hip arthroplasty (THA), based on studies published between 2000 and 2025. Methods: The review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Electronic searches were performed in PubMed (MEDLINE), Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase between January and April 2025. Eligible studies included clinical trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published in English that addressed either preventive or therapeutic strategies for PJI in THA. Study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment were carried out independently by two reviewers. Due to the heterogeneity of the included studies, a qualitative synthesis was performed. Results: A total of 32 studies were included. Preventive measures identified in the literature comprised combined antibiotic prophylaxis (cefazolin and gentamicin), multimodal perioperative protocols such as ACERTO, nasal decolonization for Staphylococcus aureus, silver-impregnated dressings, and structured post-discharge surveillance. Treatment strategies included DAIR (Debridement, Antibiotics, and Implant Retention), the DAPRI technique, one-stage and two-stage revision surgeries, muscle flap reconstructions, and protocols without spacers. These interventions were associated with significantly reduced infection rates and improved clinical outcomes when applied appropriately and in accordance with patient-specific factors. Conclusion: Effective prevention and treatment of PJI in total hip arthroplasty require a systematic and evidence-based approach. Integrated protocols—spanning preoperative optimization, meticulous intraoperative techniques, and rigorous postoperative monitoring—have proven effective in reducing infection incidence. In cases of established infection, surgical management must be tailored to the timing of infection, microbial profile, and host conditions. Two-stage revision remains the gold standard for complex infections, while one-stage revision and emerging techniques like DAPRI offer promising results in selected cases. This review contributes to the standardization of clinical practice and supports improved patient outcomes.

This literature review delves deeply into the epidemiology, structural and cultural challenges, and management strategies of status epilepticus (SE) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Incidence rates of SE vary significantly between countries, with notable disparities associated with socio-economic contexts, healthcare infrastructures, and cultural perceptions of epilepsy. The management of SE in this region is often hindered by constraints in medical infrastructure, inadequate access to specialist diagnostics such as electroencephalogram, and limited availability of essential anti-epileptic drugs, which are frequently out of reach for rural populations. These challenges are further exacerbated by the social stigma and cultural beliefs surrounding epilepsy, impeding access to care and widening inequalities. Moreover, the scarcity of qualified medical personnel undermines the efficient and prompt management of this neurological emergency. The review underscores the pressing need to enhance healthcare infrastructures, boost the capabilities of healthcare professionals, and conduct community awareness initiatives to destigmatize epilepsy and lessen prejudice. Additionally, practical recommendations are put forward for enhancing local capacity, fostering equity in care access, and mitigating regional health disparities in SSA.

Smallholder farmers play a pivotal role in global food security; however, they remain exceptionally vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to their reliance on natural resources and limited adaptive capacities. This narrative review synthesizes a wide range of global sources to explore the intersection of smallholder agriculture and climate adaptation strategies. The review examines adaptation practices, agroecological methods, and the adoption of climate-resilient crop varieties. It reveals that the implementation of these strategies is frequently hindered by systemic barriers such as financial constraints, limited technological access, and institutional inefficiencies. Recognizing that previous studies have addressed isolated aspects of adaptation or relied on secondary data, this review highlights research gaps and offers a comprehensive synthesis of relevant literature. This review uses a narrative synthesis model suitable for integrating evidence from agronomy, economics, and social science to capture the complex challenges faced by smallholder farmers. The review emphasizes the importance of policy frameworks and participatory approaches that empower smallholder communities. This review synthesizes current evidence to inform potential directions for targeted interventions and future field-based studies, while recognizing the limitations of relying on secondary data. These recommendations aim to facilitate integrated policy reforms and drive research initiatives, ultimately strengthening the resilience and adaptability of smallholder agriculture in the face of ongoing climate change.

Objective: To identify and evaluate the main functional assessment tools applied in the postoperative monitoring of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and to synthesize the functional outcomes reported through these instruments in the current scientific literature. Methodology: A structured review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Thirty-one peer-reviewed studies were selected through a targeted manual search based on predefined eligibility criteria. Included studies evaluated functional recovery following TKA using validated outcome measures such as the WOMAC, KSS, KOOS, IKDC, SF-36, and SANE. Data extraction focused on the instruments used, patient population characteristics, and reported outcomes. A descriptive synthesis was compiled in Table 1. Additionally, 15 studies with quantitative data were analyzed using a forest plot to illustrate risk ratios (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for functional improvement. Risk of bias was assessed qualitatively based on methodological rigor, clarity of reporting, and validation of the outcome tools. Results: All included studies reported improvements in functional status following TKA. Most risk ratios ranged from 0.66 to 0.85, indicating a consistent reduction in the risk of postoperative functional limitation. High-quality studies demonstrated more precise effect estimates and greater internal validity. The SANE scale emerged as a valid and practical tool with high responsiveness, including in its culturally adapted Brazilian version. Despite heterogeneity in study design, the direction of effect remained consistent across all included studies. Conclusion: Validated functional assessment tools are essential for monitoring recovery after total knee arthroplasty. Instruments such as WOMAC and SANE demonstrate strong clinical utility and psychometric validity. Their systematic use enhances outcome comparability, supports individualized rehabilitation planning, and improves decision-making in orthopedic care.

Complexity Leadership Theory (CLT) is a new and revolutionary concept in addressing healthcare crises worldwide. Its relevance and applications were tested during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, no definite and encompassing research was done to apply it to nursing leadership. Thus, this study examines CLT integration into nursing leadership to address the challenges posed by the pandemic. Through a systematic review of literature from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, relevant studies were analyzed to determine how complexity leadership theory was defined, conceptualized, and operationalized within nursing leadership context. The findings reveal that traditional hierarchical leadership models are insufficient in a dynamic crisis environment like the pandemic. Instead, CLT’s framework which encompasses adaptive, administrative, and enabling leadership facilitates innovation, resilience, and effective interprofessional collaboration. Nurse leaders employing these strategies are better positioned to manage resources limitation, foster shared decision-making, and implement technological advancements in rapidly changing healthcare settings. Overall, this study underscores the potential of complexity leadership theory to transform nursing leadership practices by promoting continuous learning and empowerment, thereby enhancing crisis response and preparedness for future pandemics.

This exploratory review article synthesizes existing literature on the evolution and increasing significance of women's soccer, particularly in the United States. While acknowledging the sport's progress and the achievements of the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT), it critically examines two key challenges that impede further advancement: the alarmingly high incidence of knee injuries among female players and the persistent underrepresentation of Black women. The review highlights the biomechanical factors contributing to these issues, emphasizing the need for footwear designed to accommodate the specific anatomical and functional requirements of female athletes. Furthermore, it explores the systemic barriers that contribute to the lack of diversity within the sport, advocating for equitable opportunities and support for Black women. This review concludes by underscoring the necessity for innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to ensure the continued growth and well-being of all participants in women's soccer, and identifies critical areas for future research in kinesiology and related fields.

Objective: This integrative review aims to critically examine the clinical management of periprosthetic joint infections (PJI) in total hip arthroplasty (THA), emphasizing decision-making strategies, diagnostic advancements, and therapeutic innovations. The study focuses on the complexity of infection control, microbial resistance, and individualized treatment planning. Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, targeting studies published between 2015 and 2025. Articles were selected based on their contribution to understanding the clinical, microbiological, and surgical aspects of PJI in THA. Fifty-five studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed descriptively. Results: PJI in THA is influenced by multifactorial risk profiles, including obesity, diabetes, and immunosuppression. Staphylococcus aureus, particularly MRSA, remains the most frequently isolated pathogen, followed by Gram-negative organisms and fungal species. Diagnostic innovations such as next-generation sequencing have enhanced pathogen detection, while two-stage revision remains the gold standard for chronic infections. Emerging strategies—such as antimicrobial coatings, tailored antibiotic protocols, and multidisciplinary care models—demonstrate promise in improving clinical outcomes. Conclusion: Managing PJI in THA necessitates a comprehensive and individualized approach, integrating early and accurate diagnosis, pathogen-specific treatment, and advanced preventive measures. The integration of emerging technologies and personalized care pathways is critical to optimizing outcomes and reducing the clinical and economic burden of PJI.

Background: Tobacco use remains a major global health concern, and understanding the factors that influence tobacco-related knowledge and support for tobacco control policies is critical for effective development of tobacco control policies that are accepted by the public. Objectives: This study introduces the rationale, design, methodology, and participants of the SMOKES Study (Study of Measurement of Knowledge and Examination of Support for tobacco control policies), which is conducted to evaluate tobacco use, tobacco-related knowledge and attitude, as well as support for tobacco control policies among college and university students. Methods: The SMOKES Study was designed to address significant gaps in literature by focusing on college and university students in a non-Western context. A multi-center, cross-sectional design was employed to collect data from a diverse sample of college and university students across different geographical provinces in Iran. The survey instrument incorporated a range of measures covering socio-demographic characteristics, university-related variables, family tobacco use status, personal tobacco consumption behaviors (including detailed assessments of cigarette, hookah, and electronic cigarette use), and attitudinal as well as knowledge-based assessments related to vaping. Support for tobacco control policies is also measured. Data were collected using an online survey that included self-administered questionnaires, enabling access to a large diverse sample. This study may be used to determine the prevalence of ever and current use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and hookah, as well as examining the correlates of single, dual, and poly-tobacco use. The study also aims to assess the role of social determinants, attitudes, and ethnic/geographic differences in shaping these outcomes. Results: The study sample consisted of 2403 college and university students, including undergraduates enrolled in different academic programs from all faculties and disciplines. Participants were drawn from universities across 15 provinces, and 11 ethnic groups, ensuring a heterogeneous sample with respect to socio-demographic background, ethnicity, and institutional affiliation. This diversity enhances the generalizability of the findings and allows for the exploration of subgroup differences in tobacco use patterns and policy support. Conclusions: The SMOKES Study offers a framework for examining tobacco-related knowledge and the acceptability of tobacco control policies among a key part of the population, being college and university students. By providing detailed insights into the prevalence and correlates of tobacco knowledge, attitude, use, as well as the tobacco control policy support, the study lays the groundwork for tailored public health interventions and more effective tobacco regulation strategies particularly for college campuses in a non-Western setting.

Background: Scapulohumeral periarthritis commonly afflicts individuals in their middle age. Its etiology is multifaceted, and treatment presents a challenge with a high risk of recurrence. The main symptoms include shoulder pain and limited joint mobility, seriously affect the quality of life of the patients. Recent research indicate that acupuncture combined with bloodletting cupping can significantly improve the function of activity of shoulder joint and the pain in individuals with scapulohumeral periarthritis. However, these studies have typically been limited in scope, therefore additional research to substantiate the efficacy and safety of these intervention. Methods: To evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture combined with bloodletting cupping for treating patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis. We conducted an online search of databases in both Chinese and English, including PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, Wangfang Data, China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP) and Chinese BioMedical Literature Database (CBM), to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) concerning the use of acupuncture combined with bloodletting cupping in scapulohumeral periarthritis patients. We also examined the references within the identified literature. Search utilised subject headings and free-text terms in both languages, without racial restrictions, for records up to April 3, 2024. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and evaluated their qualities. RevMan 5.3 software was used for meta-analysis of the included studies. The protocol of this review was recorded in the International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols (PROSPERO). Its registration number is CRD42023454614. Results: This review incorporated 22 RCTs involving a total of 1,774 patients. The results of meta-analysis showed that the clinical effective rate (RR=1.25, 95%CI [1.20, 1.30], P＜0.00001) of treating scapulohumeral periarthritis with acupuncture combined with bloodletting cupping was higher in the experimental group than in the control group. The all of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score (MD=-1.70, 95% CI [-2.17, -1.22], P＜0.00001). Melle score (SMD=-2.45, 95% CI [-2.55, -2.34], P=0.007]) and recurrence rate (RR=0.23, 95% CI [0.07, 0.77], P=0.02) were lower in the experimental group than in the control group with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion: The acupuncture combined with bloodletting cupping for the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome demonstrates definite efficacy and safety, with superior clinical effectiveness, pain relief, improvement in shoulder joint mobility, and reduction in recurrence compared to acupuncture alone. Therefore, it is worthy of being promoted and applied clinically.

With an increasing diversity of learners in today’s educational set-ups, there is an insurmountable need to cater for individual differences including the cultural variations among learners. It is therefore necessary for educators to develop culturally responsive teaching that enhances intercultural competencies of learners. As educators strive to provide inclusive learning environments in which learners from diverse cultural backgrounds learn equitably, differentiated instruction becomes a practical tool. This paper explores how differentiated instruction can support and enhance culturally responsive teaching by examining how tailored instructional approaches can bridge cultural gaps and enhance educational outcomes. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how educators can effectively integrate differentiated instructional methodologies to achieve the goals of Culturally Responsive Teaching. The study used a descriptive survey design to determine the use of differentiated instruction by junior school teachers in Kenya and a systematic review of literature, practical examples, and studies on teachers’ practices in culturally responsive teaching. The study outcomes indicated that teachers used various differentiated instructional strategies with flexible grouping being the most commonly used strategy. However, there arises a concern, that teachers were not very familiar with cultural variations of learners in their classrooms even as they developed their differentiated instructional strategies. Literature provided the principles and practices of culturally responsive teaching. The combination of these results were used to formulate a conceptual framework for Culturally Responsive Differentiated Instruction (CRDI) that provides insights for practitioners to develop and implement culturally responsive differentiated instructional strategies. The study recommends that a framework to support teachers in the implementation of inclusive and equitable curriculum through CRDI be developed, CRDI be integrated into the teaching processes and the teachers be trained on providing for learner differences through CRDI.

Background: Diabetes is a chronic global health issue that requires effective management to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Nursing education plays a critical role in empowering diabetic patients with self-management skills. Aim This systematic review evaluates the impact of diabetes-focused nursing education on patient outcomes and quality of life. Methods: This study uses PRISMA guidelines and a systematic approach to identify and evaluate relevant literature. Results and Discussion: Among the 14 studies reviewed, eight emphasized self-management education, while four incorporated multidisciplinary approaches. Findings consistently demonstrated that structured nursing education programs significantly improved self-management behaviors, glycemic control, and patient knowledge. For instance, nurse-led self-management programs resulted in substantial enhancements in self-care skills and diabetes-related knowledge. Moreover, interventions that combined health education with psychological support were particularly effective, leading to better blood glucose control and increased adherence to treatment. Studies that examined quality of life reported reductions in anxiety, improved lifestyle habits, and better overall self-management. These findings highlight the multifaceted benefits of nursing education, suggesting that structured, supportive programs positively impact both clinical and psychological aspects of diabetes care. Conclusion: The review emphasizes the value of comprehensive nursing education that integrates both clinical guidance and psychological support for holistic diabetes management. Implications: Ongoing professional development and culturally sensitive education programs are recommended to address the diverse needs of diabetic patients. Future research should investigate the long-term effects of nursing education and explore innovative strategies to enhance diabetes management outcomes.
