A severe scrub typhus case with erythema multiforme caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi

Abstract Scrub typhus is a common disease caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi in the tropical/ temperate zone. It usually shows the skin lesions, including eschar, but erythema multiforme is rare.

Stock Closing Price and Trend Prediction with LSTM-RNN

The stock market is very volatile and hard to predict accurately due to the uncertainties affecting stock prices. However, investors and stock traders can only benefit from such models by making informed decisions about buying, holding, or investing in stocks. Also, financial institutions can use such models to manage risk and optimize their customers' investment portfolios. In this paper, we use the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM-RNN) Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to predict the daily closing price of the Amazon Inc. stock (ticker symbol: AMZN). We study the influence of various hyperparameters in the model to see what factors the predictive power of the model. The root mean squared error (RMSE) on the training was 2.51 with a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 1.84%.

Medication Adherence: Fact or Fictions?

Abstract Even patients from developed nations have trouble staying on top of their drug compliance. When it comes to improper medicine use, there is an odd parallel between underdeveloped, emerging nations and the so-called developed world in the West. The key factor influencing whether patients stick to their treatment plan is their understanding and perception of the disease.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of Junior High School learners in using flipped classroom model in learning Social Studies in Aowin Municipality in the western north region of Ghana. Qualitatively, descriptive survey design was used for this study. The population of the comprised junior high school students of Enchi Methodist School. Convenient and purposive sampling techniques were used to select both the school and fifty (50) respondents for the study. The main instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. The questionnaire was made up of four-point Likert closed-ended statements that required learners to tick, where appropriate, their responses. The data were analysed using the SPSS software package. The data was edited, coded and analysed into frequencies, percentages with interpretations. The study concluded that, Junior High School Social Studies learners have a generally positive perception regarding the use of the flipped classroom model to learn Social Studies. This implies that, students positively respond to the use of flipped classroom as a teaching method. Since learners have a general positive perception of the use of the flipped classroom, it is recommended that teachers use the flipped classroom as a teaching method while parents are also encouraged to provide their wards with the necessary support such as phones and data to facilitate students’ learning.

Occurrence of Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) in Rhipicephalus microplus (Canestrini 1888) (Acari: Ixodidae)

Abstract The tick Rhipicephalus microplus (Canestrini 1888) (Acari: Ixodidae) is responsible for considerable economic losses in Brazil. The Chrysopidae family comprises a large number of species, one of the most important being the species Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). The Chrysopidae family comprises a large number of species, one of the most important being the species Chrysoperla externa (Hagen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). The aim of this study is to describe the incidence of C. externa in R. microplus in Goiás, Brazil. Engorged females of R. microplus collected from naturally infested cattle were taken to the laboratory. For obtaining nymphs and other insects. From November 2013 to October 2014, 151 engorged females belonging to the species R. microplus were collected, from which one specimen of the species C. externa emerged. The percentage of predation was 0.6%.

The automation of IT Service Management (ITSM) workflows using explicit rules and data has been established for years. Domain-specific rule engines interpret rules written in declarative rule modelling languages and generate forwarding arrows to process event streams and support decision making. Such automation is augmented by rule-driven Quality Assurance for correctness, safety, and risk management. The service desk is the onshore base of an ITSM supply chain. An end-to-end incident response service resolves incidents using only onshore resources and employs back office teams to help with unresolvable incidents. The forward factories of rule-based automation for ticket processing service are identified. Several rule-based workflows in incident and change management have been published. Further glimpses of the future across all ITSM workflows are provided based on training in an online ITSM service with automated operations. Rule engines are specialised components that direct the processing of data flows according to pre-defined rules. Decision factories complement the more common event-driven rule engines. While event processing occurs below the polling frequency of the source, rules in decision factories are triggered based on the arrival of data. These factories are applied in ITSM for risk and safety evaluation and quality assurance. Rule-enriched architectures incorporate domain-specific modelling languages to ensure correctness with respect to qualitative quality attributes. Dedicated factories provide resilience, detect slack or over-utilisation, and offer point-in-time assurance and testing.
