Diabetes Nursing Education Its Implication Towards an Improved Quality of Life of Persons with Diabetes: A Systematic Review

Background: Diabetes is a chronic global health issue that requires effective management to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Nursing education plays a critical role in empowering diabetic patients with self-management skills. Aim This systematic review evaluates the impact of diabetes-focused nursing education on patient outcomes and quality of life. Methods: This study uses PRISMA guidelines and a systematic approach to identify and evaluate relevant literature. Results and Discussion: Among the 14 studies reviewed, eight emphasized self-management education, while four incorporated multidisciplinary approaches. Findings consistently demonstrated that structured nursing education programs significantly improved self-management behaviors, glycemic control, and patient knowledge. For instance, nurse-led self-management programs resulted in substantial enhancements in self-care skills and diabetes-related knowledge. Moreover, interventions that combined health education with psychological support were particularly effective, leading to better blood glucose control and increased adherence to treatment. Studies that examined quality of life reported reductions in anxiety, improved lifestyle habits, and better overall self-management. These findings highlight the multifaceted benefits of nursing education, suggesting that structured, supportive programs positively impact both clinical and psychological aspects of diabetes care. Conclusion: The review emphasizes the value of comprehensive nursing education that integrates both clinical guidance and psychological support for holistic diabetes management. Implications: Ongoing professional development and culturally sensitive education programs are recommended to address the diverse needs of diabetic patients. Future research should investigate the long-term effects of nursing education and explore innovative strategies to enhance diabetes management outcomes.

1) Background: Culture shock is a common experience by internationally educated nurses (IENs) working in foreign countries, characterized by disorientation and discomfort due to distinct norms, values, and rituals. 2) Aim: this study explores culture shock in IENs and explores mitigation techniques to enhance understanding of challenges faced in foreign cultural contexts. 3) Method: Using Concept Analysis by Walker and Avant (2019). 4) Results: A total of 20 articles were reviewed. Four major attributes were identified: psychological and emotional impact, communication barriers, acculturation and quality of life, and organizational challenges. 5) Conclusion: This paper explores the challenges faced by nurses from foreign countries due to cultural adjustment and proposes solutions to minimize its effects. It is beneficial for nurses, healthcare organizations, and policymakers, aiming to improve patient care and health outcomes. 6) Implication for Practice: Addressing culture shock can promote a smooth transition, enhance nurses' experience, and improve their cultural competence. Providing tailored orientation and mentorship programs can help IENs feel supported and empowered, leading to increased job satisfaction, retention rates, and better patient outcomes.

The quality of communication between healthcare providers and pregnant women is a topic of paramount importance within the realm of maternal healthcare. It is not merely an aspect of medical interaction; rather, it is the prerequisite that influences various critical dimensions of maternal care, including maternal satisfaction, health outcomes, and shared decision-making. Effective communication between healthcare providers and pregnant women is essential for optimal maternal care during pregnancy and childbirth. Maternal satisfaction is a fundamental metric of patient-centered care, and improved communication, characterized by empathy, information sharing, and active listening, cultivates trust and enhances women's contentment with their care experiences. Positive provider-patient interactions are associated with improved emotional well-being, reduced stress levels, and increased adherence to prenatal recommendations, contributing to positive health outcomes for both mother and fetus. Shared decision-making is impacted by open and transparent dialogue between healthcare providers and pregnant women. Inclusive discussions about available interventions, risks, and benefits empower women to make informed choices aligned with their preferences and values. This shared decision-making promotes autonomy, self-efficacy, and a collaborative care partnership, potentially influencing the birthing experience and postpartum adaptation. However, challenges persist in communication quality, such as variability in healthcare provider communication styles, cultural considerations, and system-level factors. Addressing these challenges through targeted interventions, training, and policy implementation can further enhance the overall maternal care experience. Further research is needed to explore innovative strategies that optimize communication and promote positive outcomes throughout the continuum of maternal care.

Addressing adolescent and sexual reproductive healthcare is essential to providing young patients with the resources they need to navigate and empower themselves with. However, there is limited data about how often this occurs. Several studies have previously indicated that there is a large gap in accessing this gap in low-income neighborhoods. Our study aims to identify the establishment of gynecologic care among adolescent cisgender women and elucidate potential reasons for seeking or not seeking out care. We approached women in the pediatric emergency room that matched the inclusion criteria set out. Qualitative surveys were conducted until thematic saturation was reached and a cross-section study design was employed. Interviews were analyzed through modified ground theory. The study was conducted at the pediatric emergency department at University Hospital located in Newark, NJ. In 2018 estimates, the Newark population consists of 47.0% Black and 39.2% Hispanic or Latinos. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 27 cisgendered, English-speaking females between ages 18 to 25 presenting to the pediatric emergency room who may or may not have previously established primary care with a gynecologist. Transcriptions were analyzed using modified grounded theory and themes were identified using inductive coding of patient interviews.

This paper examines the transformation of Yi women’s social status in Daliangshan, Sichuan Province. It analyzes historical practices—including child marriage (wawaqin) and the tradition of high bridal gifts—along with the role of education, economic modernization, and cultural advocacy initiatives. The study situates these developments within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on gender equality, poverty alleviation, and equitable development. Field interviews, observations, and community-based projects inform this analysis, which highlights both progress and persisting challenges for Yi women.

In this paper, we will examine a rather complex case of the paradoxical nature of certain conclusions that may arise when studying the numerical convergence of a specific nonlinear recursive sequence, known in the literature as Muller’s sequence. To analyze the peculiar computational behavior of this sequence, it is necessary to employ a powerful mathematical framework in order to understand the nontrivial issues that can arise when the software implementation of this seemingly simple mathematical problem. These challenges often stem from the limitations of numerical methods and the inherent errors in computer arithmetic, which can affect the accuracy and stability of the results, particularly when dealing with iterative methods like Muller's sequence.

Background: Tobacco endgame, defined as elimination of commercial tobacco sales The U.S. tobacco control landscape is a complex, adaptive system shaped by diverse stakeholders, evolving products and regulations, shifting social norms, and the strategic countermeasures of a powerful industry. Managing such complexity requires more than isolated interventions—it demands a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach that accounts for dynamic interactions, feedback loops, and emergent risks. Objective: Drawing on complex systems thinking, Zachman enterprise architecture model, and public health best practices, we conceptualize tobacco control as an evolving enterprise progressing through six interconnected phases: (1) Conception & Initiation, (2) Policy & System Design, (3) Implementation & Operation, (4) Evaluation & Adaptation, (5) Consolidation & Endgame Transition, and (6) Sustainment or Sunset. Each phase incorporates governance structures, performance benchmarks, and transition criteria designed to manage interdependence and reduce systemic vulnerabilities. Results: The lifecycle framing emphasizes how tobacco control in the U.S. can evolve as a complex, adaptive enterprise—integrating public health objectives with legal, operational, and cultural change processes. This model supports strategic sequencing, cross-sector alignment, and risk mitigation against emergent industry tactics, enabling a resilient and measurable pathway to the endgame. Conclusions: Seeing tobacco control as a complex enterprise that operates under a lifecycle model may offer a roadmap for achieving and sustaining the tobacco endgame. Using this approach may enhance policy coherence, resource efficiency, and adaptability, ensuring tobacco endgame is achieved.

This paper is a general summary of Neuralink, a revolutionary technology set to elevate human life and neurology. Neuralink itself is a key testimonial to the evolution of neuroscience and even brain-computer interfaces, otherwise known as BCI. The original few BCI experiments were conducted on monkeys in the 1960s and 70s, in which the experiment itself narrowed down and understood brain function as a general concept [3]. More specifically, "Work on these technologies began in the early 1970s, led by computer science professor J.J. Vidal at UCLA" [12]. Science itself progresses day by day, growing rapidly in recent years, especially in neuroscience, something highlighted as a focal point in the previous statement. Moreover, recently we have seen technology go on a rampant rise in terms of popularity, inventions, and changes to the human lifestyle. The interactions humans had with technology initially developed with wearables or wearable technology, such as Apple Watches, AirPods, and Fitbits, and now they have even prompted advancements in brain-computer interfaces. Technology has had the power to advance science, but now it’s capable of changing the human mind. Going back to Neuralink, it’s a startup that began its initiative in 2016 and was approved by the FDA for clinical trials in May of 2023, ready to create a wave of change in the field of neuroscience [6]. The foremost baffling thing is how this chip plans on being placed in the somatosensory system. The somatosensory system is a part of the brain that deals with motor actions, recognition, and perception, and applying Neuralink in this area should supposedly allow for cures and treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries, epilepsy, autism, depression, schizophrenia, and possibly blindness [9]. Neuralink is deemed to lead to a life-changing future, and with co-founders and investors like Elon Musk, there is a lot to know about this piece of technology.

Smallholder farmers play a pivotal role in global food security; however, they remain exceptionally vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to their reliance on natural resources and limited adaptive capacities. This narrative review synthesizes a wide range of global sources to explore the intersection of smallholder agriculture and climate adaptation strategies. The review examines adaptation practices, agroecological methods, and the adoption of climate-resilient crop varieties. It reveals that the implementation of these strategies is frequently hindered by systemic barriers such as financial constraints, limited technological access, and institutional inefficiencies. Recognizing that previous studies have addressed isolated aspects of adaptation or relied on secondary data, this review highlights research gaps and offers a comprehensive synthesis of relevant literature. This review uses a narrative synthesis model suitable for integrating evidence from agronomy, economics, and social science to capture the complex challenges faced by smallholder farmers. The review emphasizes the importance of policy frameworks and participatory approaches that empower smallholder communities. This review synthesizes current evidence to inform potential directions for targeted interventions and future field-based studies, while recognizing the limitations of relying on secondary data. These recommendations aim to facilitate integrated policy reforms and drive research initiatives, ultimately strengthening the resilience and adaptability of smallholder agriculture in the face of ongoing climate change.

Complexity Leadership Theory (CLT) is a new and revolutionary concept in addressing healthcare crises worldwide. Its relevance and applications were tested during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, no definite and encompassing research was done to apply it to nursing leadership. Thus, this study examines CLT integration into nursing leadership to address the challenges posed by the pandemic. Through a systematic review of literature from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, relevant studies were analyzed to determine how complexity leadership theory was defined, conceptualized, and operationalized within nursing leadership context. The findings reveal that traditional hierarchical leadership models are insufficient in a dynamic crisis environment like the pandemic. Instead, CLT’s framework which encompasses adaptive, administrative, and enabling leadership facilitates innovation, resilience, and effective interprofessional collaboration. Nurse leaders employing these strategies are better positioned to manage resources limitation, foster shared decision-making, and implement technological advancements in rapidly changing healthcare settings. Overall, this study underscores the potential of complexity leadership theory to transform nursing leadership practices by promoting continuous learning and empowerment, thereby enhancing crisis response and preparedness for future pandemics.

Drug shortages represent a significant and growing challenge within the pharmaceutical supply chain, with profound implications for patient care, public health, and healthcare costs. This manuscript provides a comprehensive examination of the causes and impacts of drug shortages, highlighting the multifaceted nature of this issue. Key factors contributing to shortages include manufacturing complications, limited availability of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), market dynamics that discourage the production of less profitable medications, and regulatory challenges that slow down the approval process for new manufacturing capacities. The consequences of these shortages are far-reaching. Patients often face treatment delays, which can lead to adverse health outcomes, increased hospitalization rates, and even mortality. Healthcare providers experience heightened operational costs as they seek alternative therapies and manage complications resulting from inadequate treatment. Furthermore, the frequent occurrence of drug shortages erodes public trust in both the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical industry, leading to decreased patient adherence to prescribed therapies. To mitigate the impacts of drug shortages, this manuscript proposes several strategic solutions, including enhanced communication among stakeholders, diversification of supply sources, increased regulatory flexibility, and collaborative approaches between public and private sectors. Additionally, raising awareness among healthcare providers and patients regarding the causes and potential alternatives can empower stakeholders to navigate shortages effectively. Ultimately, addressing drug shortages necessitates a proactive and coordinated effort from all participants in the pharmaceutical supply chain. By implementing these strategies, stakeholders can enhance the resilience of the supply chain, ensuring that essential medications remain accessible and that patient care is not compromised. The findings of this manuscript underscore the urgent need for ongoing vigilance and collaborative action to tackle the challenges posed by drug shortages, safeguarding public health and improving healthcare outcomes globally.

This aimed to examine the societal perception of new religious movements' televangelism in Dunkwa-On-Offin, Ghana's Central Region. The study used a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, using the mixed methods approach to research. The population of this study comprised Women, Regular churchgoers, believers, and those listening to televangelism services by new religious movements, as well as clergy, lay leaders, and other male worshippers. Random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select 200 women and 20 men from House of Power Ministry International and GILGAL Pentecostal Prayer Ministry International as the respondents for the study. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires and interview guides. IBM SPSS statistics software version 23 was used to analyse the quantitative data, while qualitative data was analysed thematically with an interpretative lens. The study has revealed that society perceives the televangelism movements as helpful and encouraging but could also create trouble in fundamental Christian worship principles. The study also indicates that televangelists emphasise material things rather than spiritual matters. Other concerns included that televangelism brings about the separation of family and friends because they always inform members that their friends and family are evil. It is recommended that there is the need to change or improve the credibility perception among Christians in Ghana about televangelism. Televangelists must exhibit accountability and integrity to their worshippers by providing adequate information to encourage viewers to support their ministries.

We study a dynamic model of the relationship between two people where the states depend on the “power” in the relationship. We perform a comprehensive analysis of stability of the system, and determine a set of conditions under which stable relationships are possible. In particular, stable relationships can occur if both people are dominant, but the sum of dominances is below a bound determined by the model’s parameters. Stable relationships can also occur if one person is dominant and the other is submissive, provided the level of dominance exceeds the level of submissiveness but not beyond a threshold. We also conclude that a stable relationship is not possible if both people are submissive. While our model is motivated by a social or romantic relationship, it can also be applied to professional or business relationships, diplomatic relationships between nations, and certain biological interactions between organisms and between automated agents or robots.

This study investigates the benefits of forgiveness among adolescents in Junior High Schools (JHS) in Bimbilla, Ghana, focusing on the influence of age on the effectiveness of forgiveness interventions. The study adopted a mixed-method experimental design, a purposive selection of eight JHSs within the Nanumba North Municipality, from which 60 adolescents were randomly chosen to participate. The study employed the Enright Forgiveness Inventory, Depression Mood Scale, and Anger Self-Report items to assess participants' emotional states before and after the intervention. The interventions were structured around the REACH model of forgiveness, which included sessions aimed at helping participants identify sources of hurt, understand the concept of forgiveness, and recognise the emotional costs of holding onto grievances. Qualitative data were analysed into themes using an interpretative lens. A two-way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used to analyse the data. The findings revealed that exposure to forgiveness therapies significantly reshaped participants' negative emotions, leading to a marked decrease in feelings of anger and depression. Post-intervention assessments indicated that participants developed a more positive outlook towards their offenders, highlighting the transformative power of forgiveness in fostering emotional well-being. The study's results align with previous research, indicating that forgiveness interventions can effectively reduce negative emotional states and promote psychological resilience. The implications of these findings suggest that integrating forgiveness education into school curricula could be beneficial for enhancing the mental health of adolescents. By fostering an environment that encourages forgiveness, educators and mental health professionals can help mitigate the adverse effects of unresolved emotional conflicts, ultimately contributing to healthier interpersonal relationships and improved overall well-being among young individuals.

Access to and the availability of digital infrastructure remains the most significant issue influencing teachers' use of multimedia technology in teaching and learning processes. Qualitatively, the study focused on a case study research design. The study population consisted of five (5) Social Studies teachers at Presbyterian University College of Education Demonstration Junior High School in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana. A purposive sampling technique was used to select all the Social Studies teachers for the study. The main instruments for data collection were an interview guide and observation protocols. The data was analysed using the interpretative method based on the themes arrived at during the data collection. The themes were related to the research question and interpreted on the number of issues raised by participants. The study indicated that more resources are needed to use multimedia resources effectively in social studies instruction. Limited access to computers and the internet, unreliable power supply, time constraints for teachers, and a lack of necessary competencies all contribute to this challenge. Although multimedia has become crucial to education, teachers often need more training to utilise these resources fully. The government must collaborate with other organisations to procure ICT resources to address these challenges rather than shouldering the sole responsibility for financing education. Establishing a school-based ICT policy framework to guide technology implementation in teaching and learning is essential.

This study aimed to assess the proximate composition, microbial quality, and sensory acceptability of canned Bambara beans in Ghana to determine their nutritional value and consumer perceptions. The research was conducted in Tamale in the northern region of Ghana, focusing on sensory evaluation, nutritional analysis, and consumer preferences for canned Bambara beans. The study utilized canned Bambara bean varieties sourced from local markets in Ghana. It involved sensory panels, proximate analysis, and microbial testing to evaluate the quality and safety of the canned products. Data analysis included sensory scoring, proximate composition determination, and microbial count assessments. The findings indicated positive consumer attitudes towards canned Bambara beans, emphasising their convenience, nutritional richness, and sensory appeal. Nutritional analysis revealed the nutrient content of the canned beans, highlighting their potential as a nutritious food source. Conclusions emphasised the importance of sensory attributes in consumer acceptance and women's role in producing and promoting Bambara beans. It is recommended that Increase awareness among consumers, especially women and homemakers, about the nutritional benefits and culinary versatility of canned Bambara beans. Educational campaigns highlighting canned Bambara beans' health advantages and convenience can encourage their inclusion in household diets. It is also recommended that women involved in the production and processing of Bambara beans should be supported and empowered through training, capacity building, and access to resources. Recognising the pivotal role of women in the Bambara bean value chain is essential for sustainable production practices and economic empowerment.

This research has deeply examined the linguistic and rhetorical features of proverbs in Arabic language and literature. By comprehensively addressing the grammatical structures, narrative techniques and rhetorical features of the parables, the study has shown how impressive and instructive these elements are. The research also analyzed the role of parables in contemporary Arabic literature and how they approach modern social and cultural issues. The findings revealed the rich and diverse effects of parables on language and rhetoric, indicating that Arabic parables are powerful and effective literary tools in both historical and contemporary contexts. Additionally, the place of parables in contemporary Arabic literature, how this literary genre approaches social and cultural issues, and the effects of these approaches on society are detailed. In conclusion, this study highlights the effects of Arabic parables on language and rhetoric and how this literary form has evolved in modern times and its role in social communication. For future studies, it is recommended to conduct comparative analyzes with a wider range of texts and in various geographical and historical contexts. This will better reflect the cultural and historical diversity of Arabic parables and allow us to delve more deeply into the effects of modern technology and media.

Challenges are part and parcel of human activities. Quantitatively, a relational survey model research was adopted for the study. The population for this study comprised all Junior High School (JHS) Religious and Moral Education (RME) students in Bokro M/A JHS and the Eziom Methodist JHS in the Nzema-East Municipality of the Western Region. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used to select the schools and respondents for the study. The main instruments for data collection were a test and a questionnaire. The data from both the control and experimental groups on the challenges learners face in using the flipped classroom model in RME were analysed using means and standard deviations. The study indicates the challenges learners face by employing the flipped classroom model to learn include lack of data to access the internet, frequent light outs, lack of technological devices to access contents, frequent power outages, and difficulty in comprehending some of the materials given to them. Given that learners face frequent power outages during periods that they watch videos assigned to them by their teachers, it is recommended that the government and the Electricity Company of Ghana ensure that there is a constant flow of power to allow learners trying to use the flipped classroom to learn are without any hindrance. It is also recommended that the Ghana education service should organise continuing professional development for RME teachers on effective uses of technology in teaching and learning subject concepts. The government should also supply the basic schools with all the needed technological devices to promote effective teaching, learning and assessment.

The stock market is very volatile and hard to predict accurately due to the uncertainties affecting stock prices. However, investors and stock traders can only benefit from such models by making informed decisions about buying, holding, or investing in stocks. Also, financial institutions can use such models to manage risk and optimize their customers' investment portfolios. In this paper, we use the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM-RNN) Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to predict the daily closing price of the Amazon Inc. stock (ticker symbol: AMZN). We study the influence of various hyperparameters in the model to see what factors the predictive power of the model. The root mean squared error (RMSE) on the training was 2.51 with a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 1.84%.

This paper delves into the escalating impact of social media within the financial sphere, emphasizing the heightened accessibility to information and market involvement facilitated by platforms like Twitter and Reddit. It sheds light on how social media plays a pivotal role in market manipulation, as evidenced by phenomena such as the r/wallstreetbets subreddit, where meme-based strategies were employed to inflate the prices of stocks like GameStop. The study explores the utilization of social media by influential figures, exemplified by Elon Musk, who leverage their platforms to sway market movements. Additionally, this paper addresses instances of misinformation, such as the confusion surrounding Virgin Galactic's shares following a SpaceX failure and the introduction of "AGUA" in the Mexican stock market, leading to widespread misunderstandings. The paper extends its examination to the effects of social media on cryptocurrencies, highlighting how comments from public figures can significantly impact the prices of Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Overall, it underscores the imperative need for adaptation to these changes in the digital financial paradigm.

The thrust of this paper is to delve into the cohesive devices of political discourse as it pertains to Nelson Mandela‘s I Am the First Accused. The text was codified and the lexico-grammatical resources were examined in terms of semantic ties through the lens of Discourse analysis. The text was analysed based on Halliday and Hasan’s, 1976 five major cohesion classification categories: reference, demonstrative references, substitution, conjunction and lexical cohesion. The research indicated that there were sufficient phenomenon-example relationships within the text. In other words, there was adequate justification for claim statements within the text. There are also adequate cause-consequential relations in the text. Anaphoric references were commonplace in the text. It was also found out that cataphoric reference was sparingly used in the text. Analysis of the data also revealed that there were 30 instances of personal references, 21 demonstrative references, 3 instances of comparative references, and 6 instances of substitution. There were no instances of ellipsis. There were 7 instances of conjunction as a semantic link. There were 15 instances of repetition, 5 examples of synonyms and 3 instances of antonyms. It is recommended that public speakers and media practitioners take cognisance of cohesive devices and make their write-ups and speeches more cohesive and coherent for their audience and readers to decode meaning. Teachers of English as a second language should give serious attention to the teaching of cohesion as a semantic link within a text since cohesion and coherence aid the readability of a text. Cataphoric references sustain the interest of listeners and readers since they expect information yet to be given. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers of English as a second language should encourage their students to use some cataphors in their essays to create some kind of suspense in their readers. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) could also be used as an analytical tool to examine how power plays within the text.

Factors Influencing Fertility Control among Highly-Educated Urban Women in the Cape Coast Metropolis of Ghana

The main instrument for data collection was a semi-structured interview guide. Data was collected from educated women within the Cape Coast Metropolis. Five items open-ended questions under the heading Factors influencing fertility control among highly-educated urban women in the Cape Coast Metropolis. All transcribed data were then imported into NVivo 11, a computer-aided qualitative data analysis package with each transcript coded sentence by sentence. The codes were determined and constructed based on the content of the data. After the coding process, each code was described and memos attached as ideas about the themes emerged from social-cultural, economic to educational factors. The study underscores the adequate involvement of male partners in women’s fertility control practices, especially women’s contraceptive preferences. This demonstrates the authority of men over women in the domain of the family. Recognising that men have enormous powers regarding fertility issues tend to appreciate the need to promote and advance family needs and welfare. Also, the results indicate that other close associates or relatives are involved in women’s contraceptive lives. These close relations are what describes as a social network in Bronfenbrenner social-ecological framework. Besides, there are multiple socio-cultural and economic obstacles that could work against achieving desired fertility levels. It is recommended that family planning programmes should not focus on only women, but include male partners to enhance a change in behaviour and norms regarding power and gender roles that do not make them supportive partners. There is a need for a high-level promotion through civil society to encourage men to get involved in family planning matters. This will help women or couples to freely adopt their desired fertility control methods without hindrance.

A comprehensive analysis was carried out to explain the benefits of adopting enterprise system for pharmaceutical drug traceability. Counterfeit drugs are medicines that are fake and have been produced using incorrect potency, or incorrect ingredients used to manufacture these drugs. Solving the drug counterfeiting problems by identifying the most effective and innovative technologies for protecting people's health is of essence these days for the world. Drug serialization is essential concept for drug traceability in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Blockchain is the latest stringent technology that makes drug distribution more secure in the supply chain. The blockchain-based drug traceability is a distributed shared data platform that shares information that is irreversible, reliable, responsible, and transparent in the PSC. Blockchain uses two powerful module, Hyperledger Fabric and Besu to satisfy important criteria for medication traceability, such as privacy, trust, transparency, security, authorization and authentication, and scalability. Researchers in Health informatics can use blockchain designs as a useful road map to develop and implement end-to-end pharmaceutical drug traceability in the supply chain to prevent drug counterfeiting. Industrial IoT is also a key component for the pharmaceutical industry. IoT systems in pharmaceutical drug traceability can be beneficial as they are based on automation and computational methodologies.

This article seeks to relate the narrative strategies used by video channels on YouTube with the advertising of toys and electronic games intended for the Alpha generation. Based on the principle that we live in a society composed of different age groups, the main theoretical references that make it possible to understand generation as a local and global phenomenon will be exposed. After such concepts, the rise of the image and its importance for the new generations will be approached, to support the selection of the audiovisual platform YouTube and its growing fascination by the public. Finally, concepts from semiotics will be applied to verify the narrative and discursive power of video channels for contemporary children, also known as the Alpha generation.

The automated parking system is an extensive branch of smart transport systems. The smartness of such systems is determined by different parameters such as parking maneuver planning. Coding this control system includes vehicle parking and understanding the environment. A high-quality classification mask has been used on each sample to analyze the automated vehicle parking parameters. Mask region-based convolutional neural networks (R-CNN) was taught using a small computational workload titled faster R-CNN that operates in five frames per second. In this paper, the rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT) method was used for routing the parking space and a nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) controller was added to develop this system. We add the line detection algorithm commands to the mask R-CNN algorithm. The results can be useful to design a secure automatic parking system as well as a powerful perception system.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effect of sub-lethal dose of the cyclophosphamide, 5-FU, combination of 5-FU, and CPA on testicular antioxidant status, and oxidative stress in male albino rats. Materials and Methods: Twenty-eight male adult rats were grouped randomly into four groups (n=5 each group). Group I (control): Rats were injected with saline intraperitoneally and at a dose of 1.0 ml/kg b.w. for 14 days. Group II cyclophosphamide (CPA): Cyclophosphamide at a dose of 10 mg/kg day by day through i.p. to rats for 14 days. Group III Fluorouracil (5-FU): 5-Fluorouracil at a dose of 10 mg/kg day by day in saline was given through i.p. to rats for 14 days. Group IV (CPA+5-FU): Rats were given CPA followed by 5-FU at a dose of 10 mg/kg per day (day by day) through i.p. to rats for 14 days. At the end of the experimental period, rats were anesthetized using light ether. Blood and testes tissue samples were taken and prepared for biochemical measurements. Biochemical parameters in rat serum and tissues were evaluated. Results: Individual injection of CPA and 5-FU to rats were reduced testes TAC, GSH concentration, GR, and CAT activities compared to control. However, the combination treatment of rats with 5-FU and CPA increased the levels of these non-enzymatic and enzymatic antioxidant compared with those treated with CPA alone. Also, results showed significantly increased TBARS and NO concentration in the testes of CPA treated rats when compared to normal ones, while 5-FU increased NO only compared with the control. Conclusion: It can be concluded that treatment of rats with CPA is associated with the production of free radicals that leads to hazardous alterations in certain non-enzymatic, and enzymatic functions. The increase in lipid peroxidation probably leads to the intracellular accumulation of ROS with the subsequent development of testes tissue injury. However, 5-FU and CPA combination could produce a significant amelioration in most cases for these changes, and it may be considered as a potentially useful candidate in the combination chemotherapy with CPA to combat oxidative stress mediated non target organs injury even if it was not a complete protection. Future work should consider combined chemotherapy regimens, as two or more mechanisms of action of chemotherapeutic drugs could be more powerful than one mechanism.

Results: Serum total protein, albumin, and globulin concentration significantly reduced in animal groups that received cyclophosphamide. 5-FU and CPA combination reduced the changes in total protein, albumin, and globulin compared to CPA treated group. A significant increase in LDH serum concentration was found in CPA, 5-FU, and their combination-treated animals. The mean values of the combination of chemotherapy were above that in CPA followed by 5-FU treatment. Administration of CPA, 5-FU resulted in a significant increase in serum AST, ALT, ALP, and bilirubin compared to the control. Co-treatment 5-FU with CPA significantly attenuated the increase in serum AST, ALT, ALP, and bilirubin when compared to CPA – treated rats. Compared to controls, urea and creatinine levels were increased in CPA-treated rats, while uric acid was reduced in CPA, 5-FU, and their combination. The changes in urea and creatinine produced by the chemotherapy were restored when rats received CPA in combination with 5-FU. Conclusion: It could be concluded that the treatment of mammals with chemotherapy is associated with the production of free radicals that lead to hazardous alterations in biochemical parameters. However, 5-FU and CPA combination could produce a significant amelioration in most cases for these changes, and it may be considered as a potentially useful candidate in the combination chemotherapy with CPA to combat oxidative stress-mediated non-target organ injury even if it was not complete protection. Future work should consider combined chemotherapy regimens, as two or more mechanisms of action of chemotherapeutic drugs could be more powerful than one mechanism. Toxicological studies must be performed before using drugs as a combination before application. Further research is required on the toxicological impacts of drugs and pollutants mixtures.

Its effectiveness in the treatment of cancer (acute and chronic leukemias, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma) and non-malignant diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and vasculitis has been well established. Group II cyclophosphamide (CPA): Cyclophosphamide at a dose of 10 mg/kg day by day through i.p. to rats for 14 days. Group III Fluorouracil (5-FU): 5-Fluorouracil at a dose of 10 mg/kg day by day in saline was given through i.p. to rats for 14 days. Group IV (CPA+5-FU): Rats were given CPA followed by 5-FU at a dose of 10 mg/kg per day (day by day) through i.p. to rats for 14 days. At the end of the experimental period, rats were anesthetized using light ether. Blood samples were taken for hematological evaluation. Results: White blood cells, hemoglobin content and red blood cell counts were significantly decline in rats treated with individual treatment with CPA and 5-FU in comparison to the control group, while the Combination antagonize the changes produced by CPA in hemoglobin and red blood cell counts. Intraperitoneal individual treatment with CPA and 5-FU in rats caused a significant reduction in the hematocrit and platelet. The reductions in these measured hematological parameters were also significantly and slightly ameliorated when the animals were given a combination of CPA and 5-FU. Cyclophosphamide and 5-FU individually reduced lymphocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils, and monocytes; while the combination of CPA and 5-FU antagonized these changes compared to CPA treated group. Conclusion: It could be concluded that the treatment of mammals with chemotherapy is associated with the production of free radicals that lead to hazardous alterations in hematological parameters. However, 5-FU and CPA combination could produce a significant amelioration in most cases for these changes. Future work should consider combined chemotherapy regimens, as two or more mechanisms of action of chemotherapeutic drugs could be more powerful than one mechanism. Using cyclophosphamide and 5-fluorouracil in combination may reduce cyclophosphamide’s side effects when given individually.

Test and Measurement: US Army Combat Field Testing Protocol and Exploratory Analysis

The importance of resistance training (Conley & Pennington, 2022; Pennington, 2020) cardiovascular fitness (Pennington, 2015; 2016), and anaerobic power (Pennington, 2014) cannot be overstated for individuals enlisted in our country’s armed forces. The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) is the new branch wide fitness test designed to replace the outdated Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) (USAPHC TG 358, n.d.). The APFT was implemented in 1980 as the measure of Service Member (SM) fitness. However, this test is very limited in scope and failed to tell unit commanders how ready their SMs were for the rigors of a combat environment (US Army ACFT Field Testing Manual, n.d.). The APFT was a gender-based test that consisted of three events: a two-minute pushup evaluation to measure upper body endurance. The second event was a two-minute sit up evaluation to measure core and hip flexor endurance. While the final evaluation was a two-mile timed run, which was designed to test aerobic endurance and leg endurance. This test was simple to set up and administer but, it was not a good metric to judge SM’s actual fitness in a combat environment. If a SM had good endurance than he or she would max the test with ease. This is not a complete reflection of what is required in a combat environment. In a combat environment the SM will be loaded down with a rifle, helmet, rucksack, plate carrier, water, and ammo which often exceeds 80 pounds. The new ACFT which is still being implemented into the forces as of the writing of this paper is a much better test as it has more events to it which measure soldier strength and ability to move while under load.

A spherical shape ultra-wideband antenna is a microstrip patch antenna whose emitted signal bandwidth exceeds the lesser of 500 MHz. One of the major issues hindering the ultra-wideband antennas is poor diversity factors, poor voltage standing wave ratio and poor power efficiency to transmit the required signals. In this research work, the method of approach is the design and analysis of a spherical shape ultra-wideband antenna with the use of computer simulation technology (CST). This antenna is working under the resonant frequency of 6 GHz on a frequency bandwidth of 4-9 GHz. However, this research work has made an intensive review of related works. A spherical shape microstrip antenna with a diameter of 13mm and a radius of 6.5mm was designed, after which a simulation was carried out using the computer simulation technology software. The result from the radiated power shows how high the radiative efficiency is and from the results we were able to observe that the ultra-wideband antenna uses a very low amount of power but can transmit a better outgoing power from the 0.5 watts stimulated power. In this research work, an evaluation process on the envelope correlation coefficient of the antenna s-parameters was carried out, with a good result was obtained. Most importantly the diversity gain of the antenna proves to be good and efficient due to the effectiveness of the antenna radiation efficiency. The results of this antenna produce a very good voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), the voltage standing wave ratio of this spherical ultra-wideband antenna is less than 2% with a very low return loss reflection. In conclusion, the spherical shape antenna is good for ultra-wideband purposes because of its robustness in delivering high-quality signals with a very low return loss. So, it stands the chance of recommendations in the communication industries due to its high radiation efficiency rate and good VSWR.

The purpose of the study was to examine Carl Rogers' humanistic approach to supporting women in leadership positions to make a formed decision on how to manage the challenges they face. A qualitative approach was adopted for the study. The population of the study included fifteen (15) headmistresses and housemistresses in the Senior High Schools in the New Juaben Municipality in the Eastern Region. The purposive sampling technique was used to select schools, headmistresses and housemistresses in the schools. The schools selected were Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS), SDA Senior High School (SEDASS), Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS), Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH), Nana Kwaku Boateng Senior High School (OBOSS) and New Juaben Senior High School (NJUASCO). The main instruments used for data collection were a semi-structured interview guide and Reflective dialogue. Data was analysed through the use of the thematic approach. Within-case and across-case analytical technique was used to analyse the qualitative data. This was done through the identification of themes, categories and sub-categories the analytical tool for the qualitative data through interviews and reflective dialogue (RD). Themes that were extracted from the interview corresponding to Carl Rogers' humanistic person-centred) the approach were; inherent potentialities, support, motivation, power relation, INSET, cultural dimension, and guidance and counselling. The study revealed that women face challenges using inadequate school facilities they do their best possible to manage their challenges with the few facilities available, the introduction of Carl Rogers' intervention, and women became more aware of their potential in managing the challenges they face at work in their leadership positions. It is recommended that guidance programmes should be conducted often to inform both teachers and students about the potential of women. It has also emerged that women leaders do not know who they are and therefore they should undergo counselling in order to be self-actualised.

Knowledge of the content alone is no guarantee for effective teaching and learning, there is the need for teachers to demonstrate high level of technological and pedagogical power. The study examined the technological pedagogical content knowledge of Social Studies teachers’ in Junior High Schools in Aowin municipality in the Western North Region of Ghana. The descriptive survey design was used for the study. The population for the study included all Social Studies teachers in the public Junior High Schools in the Aowin Municipality. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the Seventy-four (74) Junior High Schools and Seventy-four (74) the Social Studies teachers for the study. The main instrument for data collection was questionnaire. The study revealed that, teachers have adequate content knowledge to teach Social Studies but there are doubts as to whether their knowledge is current. The study also concluded that, teachers were not confident about their technological, pedagogical and content knowledge in Social Studies and this resulted in their negative attitude towards the integration of technology in classroom activities. It is recommended that, the Ghana Education Service should organize In-Service Training and refresher courses for teachers to keep them current and up-to-date their content knowledge in Social Studies. It is also recommended that, teachers should adopt positive attitudes towards learning and using technology in their day-to-day activities.

Resistance exercise is the performance of physical exercises designed to improve strength, muscular, endurance, hypertrophy, and neuromuscular efficiency with the use of weights (Braith & Stewart, 2006)[1]. Resistance exercise has long been utilized for its beneficial health qualities and propensity to elicit certain desired physiological changes (Fry, 2004)[2]. There has been a recent, and significant, increase in resistance exercise activity in American adults (NCHS, 2018)[3] attributable to factors such as autonomous compulsion and self fulfilment to extrinsic factors like health and physical appearance (Fisher et al., 2017; Heinrich et al., 2014; Ingledew & Markland, 2008)[4,5,6]. As such, there is an ever-increasing need for educational material regarding resistance exercise, its benefits, purpose, and manner in which it should be conducted. Purpose- to (a) provide resistance exercise-based educational material regarding the background and rationale behind resistance training; (b) to provide a specific resistance-based exercise program to elicit strength gain; (c) to provide individuals with the knowledge to safely and effectively engage in said program; and (d) to provide the participant with expected physiological adaptations to completing the program. Methods- Two 6-week, 5-day per week resistance exercise programs – with a brief nutritional guide accompaniment – are outlined for a hypothetical participant, age 25-40, of moderate experience with fitness training, and with the goal of strength gain and moderate fat loss as a secondary goal. Results- Anticipated benefits of the program include: increased maximal strength caused by training above 85% 1RM for 2-6 sets of 1-6 reps; increased synergistic muscle groups strength which will contribute to improved prime mover strength; hypertrophy of skeletal muscles throughout the body, induced by lifts of 67-85% 1 rep max (RM) for 3-6 sets of 6-12 reps and increased resting energy expenditure (basal metabolic rate) accompanied by improved body composition. Conclusion- Continued progression though this protocol with modifications to resistance include potential improved running speed, explosive power potential, and other anaerobic sport performance factors, as well as enhanced neuromuscular efficiency associated with increased prime mover force production capabilities.

The bottom-up or informal placemaking process is “illegal”, practised only by the “poor” and “unintellectual” classes. The author argues that various classes practise informal placemaking regardless of their economic status or educational level. Studying the spatial manifestation of informal placemaking helps to understand the concrete needs of the residents and reconsider their role in identifying places. Aiming to comprehend informal placemaking and its importance, this study investigates informal placemaking in Sheraton Residence, Heliopolis, Cairo. The area is chosen for its formality, socio-economic and cultural patterns. Cases of informal placemaking in Sheraton Residence are described and analysed to pinpoint their role in creating a sense of place, territorial identity and comprehending their meaning. A comparison with cases in informal low-income housing is conducted to construct diversities and similarities. The study encourages the re-thinking of the public role in placemaking as a place of negotiation and belonging. We can improve their urban quality by re-thinking informal placemaking and looking at how people use the place. The general impression that only informal housing and low-educated classes practise informal placemaking is incorrect.

The increasing popularity of carbon nanotubes has created a demand for greater scientific understanding of the characteristics of thermal transport in nanostructured materials. However, the effects of impurities, misalignments, and structure factors on the thermal conductivity of carbon nanotube films and fibers are still poorly understood. Carbon nanotube films and fibers were produced, and the parallel thermal conductance technique was employed to determine the thermal conductivity. The effects of carbon nanotube structure, purity, and alignment on the thermal conductivity of carbon films and fibers were investigated to understand the characteristics of thermal transport in the nanostructured material. The importance of bulk density and cross-sectional area was determined experimentally. The results indicated that the prepared carbon nanotube films and fibers are very efficient at conducting heat. The structure, purity, and alignment of carbon nanotubes play a fundamentally important role in determining the heat conduction properties of carbon films and fibers. Single-walled carbon nanotube films and fibers generally have high thermal conductivity. The presence of non-carbonaceous impurities degrades the thermal performance due to the low degree of bundle contact. The thermal conductivity may present power law dependence with temperature. The specific thermal conductivity decreases with increasing bulk density. At room temperature, a maximum specific thermal conductivity is obtained but Umklapp scattering occurs. The specific thermal conductivity of carbon nanotube fibers is significantly higher than that of carbon nanotube films due to the increased degree of bundle alignment.

The impact of narcissism and self-esteem on academic achievement has long been an important issue in developmental research. The study aimed to explore the students’ narcissism and self-esteem as correlates of academic achievement in Mathematics in Anambra State. Five research questions and five null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted a correlational approach. The population of the study comprised of 21204 SS2 students from which a sample of 630 was drawn. Multi-stage procedure was used to select the sample. Two standardized research instruments namely; Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), and Self-esteem Questionnaire (SQ), as well as score from students’ promotional examination were used for data collection. Cronbach’s alpha was used to determine the reliability of the items in the instruments. The overall reliability coefficient was 0.75 which shows that the instrument was reliable and good for the study. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to answer research questions 1 to 4 and to test hypotheses 1 to 4, while the research question 5 and hypothesis 5 were answered and tested with multiple correlations. The findings showed that students’ power narcissism recorded a very low positive relationship with academic achievement in mathematics. Findings also revealed that the multiple correlation of these variables is positively non significant with academic achievement in mathematics. Based on these findings, it was recommended that as narcissistic individuals believe strongly that they are better than others, teachers and counsellors should develop a strategy to enhance the confidence and ability in the students as these will help them to become life long learning individuals thereafter.

Digital formative assessments have the features of digital learning environment and can be used by teachers to both empower students’ learning and adapt the next steps in the learning process of their students. They are effective tools that can help lecturers and tutors to both collect and analyze the required information and data for supporting the teaching and learning processes. Importantly, digital formative assessments have been particularly critical during the COVID-19 pandemic due to increased students’ learning outside traditional classrooms, limited face-to-face classes and other students’ learning and assessment difficulties at many educational institutions worldwide. In this article, we describe the essential features and importance of digital formative assessments and their recently developed communication methods. We also discuss the significance of digital formative assessments in measuring students’ learning and skills in times of global crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the factors contributing to domestic violence in Koforidua in the New Juaben Municipality of Ghana. The population of the study consisted of 340 men selected from four communities in Koforidua. Purposive sampling technique 4 communities. Using the Krejcie and Morgan table, a sample size of 340 men were selected which is appropriate for a population of 3428 with an alpha level of 5 percent in a quantitative study. The selection was based on the fact that these communities registered the highest cases of domestic violence in the Municipality. The main instrument used for the study was structured questionnaire. Data analysed using SPSS (Statistical Product for Service Solution, version 20). Statistical tools such as frequency distribution tables, percentages, charts and cross tabulation was used. The frequency tables were used to give the summary of the data for easy understanding and comparison. The study revealed that men perceive that factors like show of power, exposure to domestic violence, poor communication in marriage, unemployment and poverty, control of women through discipline and women’s low academic achievement are the triggers of domestic violence in a marital relationship. The study recommended that effort ought to be put in place to unravel the mystery surrounding male supremacy over women at both institutional and community levels by DOVVSU, Gender Advocacy Groups and other institutions to benefit humanity and society at large.

Artificial intelligence (AI) based triage and diagnostic systems are increasingly being used in healthcare. Although these online tools can improve patient care, their reliability and accuracy remain variable. We hypothesized that an artificial intelligence (AI) powered triage and diagnostic system (MayaMD) would compare favorably with human doctors with respect to triage and diagnostic accuracy. We performed a prospective validation study of the accuracy and safety of an AI powered triage and diagnostic system. Identical cases were evaluated by an AI system and individual Indian healthcare practitioners (HCPs) to draw comparison for accuracy and safety. The same cases were validated with the help of consensus received from an expert panel of 3 doctors. These cases in the form of clinical vignettes were provided by an expert medical team. Overall, the study showed that the MayaMD AI based platform for virtual triage was able to recommend the most appropriate triage ensuring patient safety. In fact, the accuracy of triage recommendation by MayaMD was significantly better than that provided by individual HCPs (74% vs. 91.67%, p=0.04) with consensus being used as standard.

Estimation of Clear Sky Normal Irradiance over Northern Nigeria Atmosphere

Energy from the sun is an ideal new energy source for power systems, in a context of sustainable development, enthusiasm for concentrated solar power technologies is developing. Accurate estimation of clear-sky radiation is needed in many engineering, architectural and agricultural applications in order to integrate solar energy into the power grid. An evaluation of the irradiance input to solar power systems is required in many applications. Clear-sky models represent the maximum input of solar power systems, which is especially useful for forecasting solar irradiance and numerical weather prediction. This work examined the application of Yang model to estimate the monthly mean clear sky normal irradiance for northern Nigeria using meteorological variables like temperature, relative humidity and solar radiation considering the shading effect of the complex topography of terrain in Norther region of Nigeria, also to know the variation of beam radiation and diffuse radiation among the selected stations and also to ascertain the significance of aerosols, water vapor, and other transmittances in the estimation of the beam and diffuse radiation in the northern atmosphere. The modeling was computed using monthly mean maximum temperature and relative humidity gotten from the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) for the period of fourteen years (1983-1997. The beam and diffuse irradiance for the northern atmosphere is compared by estimating their mean and standard deviation. Also, detailed information about the trend of radiation in each of the selected states in the northern hemisphere of Nigeria was obtained using a graphical method of data analysis. Result reveals that the value of beam and diffused radiation getting to the earth's surface depends on the aerosols, water vapour, atmospheric Ozone, gas transmittance and Rayleigh scattering. From the result above, the maximum beam radiation and the minimum diffused radiation occur during the raining season and the minimum beam radiation and maximum diffuse radiation occur during the dry season. This is due to the variations of these atmospheric constituents (aerosols, water vapour, atmospheric Ozone, gas transmittance and Rayleigh scattering) in the northern atmosphere on these seasons.

The traditional electric grid of the City of Kumba has been experiencing a constant failure which leads inhabitant to experience constant blackout. This constant blackout persists and stays for a long time due to the lack of communication between equipment, consumer and supplier. Whenever there is a fault, the repairing agents walk along the feeder to find the fault. This manual fault finding increases the restauration time which leads to the augmentation of the blackout period. Factors responsible for the failure of the line are complex to be controlled. It is necessary to reduce restauration time by introducing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and sensing system in the grid and making it to be smart. ICT in this smart grid, sensors and smart meters are meant to assure two-way communication between the supplier and the consumer. They send real time information which is computed at the control center to optimize the entire grid. Distributed generation is also introduced in the system for two purposes. To complete the lag in power demand of the grid and to take over the supply when the main feeder is faulty. Various distributed generation sources studied led to the choice of solar power plants thanks to their low production of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and availability of their resources in the city. A model has been proposed for the distributed generation and optimization of the smart grid. The system indexes obtained without distributed generation in the grid are different from that with. The difference in these indexes proved that the grid has been optimized. However, the reliability of the grid is enhanced after the introduction of distributed generation into the system. This enhancement in reliability declares that with distributed generation into the grid, the population of Kumba has a reliable power supply, which makes them to have energy throughout.

This article describes the optimization models recently applied to the design and operation of power systems towards forming smart grids and identifies trends, barriers, and possible gaps in this area. Models are described to optimize the design and operation of power systems considering renewable energies, distributed generation, microgrids, demand management, and energy storage systems. It was concluded that it is necessary to validate many of the models formulated recently to optimize the operation through tests with real data and on a large scale. Furthermore, demand management and microgrids are aspects in which it is necessary to develop models for optimal power flow. Finally, it is necessary to predict stochastic variables with greater precision so that these models adapt to the real behavior of the system.

In this study, the effect of energy cost liberalization policies on the cost-effectiveness of wind farms compared to gas power plants has been investigated. To calculate the cost of electricity generation from various sources, including wind energy and fossil fuels, the “levelized cost” method has been used as the most acceptable economic method to compare different types of electricity generation technologies. In addition, calculations related to the cost of electricity, different fuel prices, different technologies of wind farms, and different prices of different types of fuel are considered. Based on the results of this research, it was found that by targeting fuel prices in the country, wind farms are quite cost-effective, and considering the cost of the opportunity to use diesel in the country, the construction of these power plants can provide the possibility of exporting this fuel. This cost also increases with the production of valuable equipment in the country. The important point is that the macro policy should localize the wind turbine industry with priority to its valuable parts and components due to fuel price changes. This policy will continue to make this type of power plant cost-effective in the country and the employment of specialists in the country.

High levels of occupational noise and vibration remain a problem in all regions of the world. In Nigeria, 12−15% of the workforce are exposed to these hazards by WHO, 2001. This research intends to achieve the following objectives; To assess the noise emitted during the moulding of various types of blocks, to determine the level of vibration induced to workers of block moulders during activities and to determine the effect of noise and vibration on workers. The following materials and equipment were used; QT40B manual block moulding machine, LM2-45 Mobile Block moulding Machine, Lister powered block moulding machine, QTJ4-40 block moulding machine using 9 and 6 inches Plates, Vibrometer and Noise monitor. The workers were exposed to noise levels above 75dB and vibration levels above 5ms-2 set as upper limit values in the Directive 44/EC from 2002 – on the Minimum Health and safety Requirements Regarding to Exposure of Workers to the Risk Arising from Physical Agents Vibration.

Due to its geographical location, Iran has numerous capacities in renewable energy, and this issue has made the need to develop renewable energy on the authorities’ agenda. This underscores the need to provide an optimal model for developing renewable energy. Therefore, in this study, the main purpose was to provide an optimal renewable energy model. In line with this goal, by choosing the cost function as the objective function and considering the potential constraints of renewable energy (resource constraints), the amount of electricity consumption in each of the 16 electricity regions (demand constraint) and the limitation of renewable energy production coefficient (Technical constraints), the optimal model of renewable energy use was designed and solved using a solid programming model in LINGO software. The optimal model results show 15.19% small hydropower, 24.30% wind energy, 5.52% biomass energy, 6.13% is geothermal energy, 4.79% is tidal energy, and 44.07% solar energy. The optimum portfolio of renewable energy is estimated in this paper using the robust optimization approach. The results showed which renewable technology has the greater potential to take more share of the energy portfolio. The results of this investigation help policymakers to choose the most suitable renewable technologies to support.

Furthermore, this essay will present an analysis of the shoreline changes and the resultant geomorphologies during the prehistoric eras, especially the Mesolithic, Neolithic, and the Helladic eras of the area. The study area which was selected concerns the west part of Messenia Prefecture in Greece. More specifically it concerns the wider area of Pylos and the Navarino bay. The unrelenting proliferation of data, entwined with the prevalence of mobile devices, has given birth to an unprecedented growth of information obscured by noise. With the Internet of Things and myriad endpoint devices generating vast volumes of sensitive and critical data, organizations are tasked with extracting actionable intelligence from this deluge. Governments and enterprises alike, even under pressure from regulatory boards, have strived to harness the power of data and leverage it to enhance safety and security, maximize performance, and mitigate risks. However, the adversaries themselves have capitalized on the unequal battle of big data and artificial intelligence to inflict widespread chaos. Therefore, the demand for big data analytics and AI/ML for high-fidelity intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance is at its highest. Today, in the cybersecurity realm, the detection of adverse incidents poses substantial challenges due to the sheer variety, volume, and velocity of deep packet inspection data. State-of-the-art detection techniques have fallen short of detecting the latest attacks after a big data breach incident. On the other hand, computational intelligence techniques such as machine learning have reignited the search for solutions for diverse monitoring problems. Recent advancements in AI/ML frameworks have the potential to analyze IoT/edge-generated big data in near real-time and assist risk assessment and mitigation through automated threat detection and modeling in the big data and AI/ML domain. Industry best practices and case studies are examined that endeavor to showcase how big data coupled with AI/ML unlocks new dimensions and capabilities in improved vigilance and monitoring, prediction of adverse incidents, intelligent modeling, and future uncertainty quantification by data resampling correction. All of these avenues lead to enhanced robustness, security, safety, and performance of industrial processes, computing, and infrastructures. A view of the future and how the potential threats due to the misuse of new technologies from bandwidth to IoT/edge, blockchain, AI, quantum, and autonomous fields is discussed. Cybersecurity is again playing out at a pace set by adversaries with low entry barriers and debilitating tools. The need for innovative solutions for defense from the emerging threat landscape, harnessing the power of new technologies and collaboration, is emphasized.

The growing complexity and variability in healthcare delivery and costs within Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans present significant challenges for improving health outcomes and managing expenditures. Neural networks, a subset of artificial intelligence (AI), have shown considerable promise in optimizing healthcare processes, particularly in predictive modeling, personalized treatment recommendations, and risk stratification. This paper explores the application of neural networks in enhancing health outcomes within the context of Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans. We review how deep learning models can be leveraged to predict patient risk, optimize resource allocation, and identify at-risk populations for preventive interventions. Additionally, we discuss the potential for neural networks to improve claims processing, reduce fraud, and streamline administrative burdens. By integrating various data sources, including medical records, claims data, and demographic information, neural networks enable more accurate and efficient decision-making processes. Ultimately, this approach can lead to better patient care, reduced healthcare costs, and improved satisfaction for beneficiaries of these programs. This charge-ahead paper suggests that transitioning the automotive industry towards a zero-carbon ecosystem from material to end-of-life can be accomplished through disruptive zero-carbon manufacturing in the broad area of all-electric vehicle production technology. To accomplish zero carbon emission automotive manufacturing in the vehicle assembly domain, future paradigms must converge on the decoupling of carbon dioxide emissions from automobile manufacturing and use the design, processing, and manufacturing conditions. The envisioned zero carbon emission vehicle manufacturing domain consists of two complementary components: (a) making more efficient use of energy and (b) reducing carbon in energy use. This paper presents the status of key scientific and technological advancements to bring the manufacturing model of today to a zero-carbon ecosystem for the entire automotive industry of tomorrow. This paper suggests the groundbreaking application of dynamic and distributed predictive scheduling algorithms and open sensing and visualization technology to meet the zero carbon emission vehicle manufacturing goals. Power-aware high-performance computing clusters have recently become a viable solution for sustainable production. Advances in scalable and self-adaptive monitoring, predictive analytics, timeline-based machine learning, and digital replica of cyber-physical systems are also seen co-evolving in the zero carbon manufacturing future. These methods are inspired by initiatives to decouple gross domestic product growth and energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. Stakeholders could co-design and implement shared roadmaps to transition the automotive manufacturing sector with relevant societal and environmental benefits. The automated mobility sector offers a program, an industry-leading example of transforming an automotive production facility to carbon neutrality status. The conclusions from this paper challenge automotive manufacturers to engage in industry offsetting and carbon tax programs to drive continuous improvement and circular vehicle flows via a multi-directional zero-carbon smart grid.

Managing supply chains efficiently has become a major concern for organizations. One of the important factors to optimize in supply chain management is logistics. The advent of technology and the increase in data availability allow for the enhancement of the efficiency of logistics in a supply chain. This discussion focuses on the blending of analytics with innovation in logistics to improve the operations of a supply chain. An approach is presented on how predictive analytics can be used to improve logistics operations. In order to analyze big data in logistics effectively, an artificial intelligence computational technique, specifically deep learning, is employed. Two case studies are illustrated to demonstrate the practical employability of the proposed technique. This reveals the power and potential of using predictive analytics in logistics to project various KPI values ahead in the future based on the contemporary data from the logistics operations; sheds light on the innovative technique of employing deep learning through deep learning-based predictive analytics in logistics; suggests incorporating innovative techniques like deep learning with predictive analytics to develop an accurate forecasting technique in logistics and optimize operations and prevent disruption in the supply chain. The network of supply chains has become more complex, necessitating the need for the latest technological advancements. The sectors that have gained a fair amount of attention for the application of technology to optimize their operations are manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, and the automotive industry. A little attention has been diverted to the logistics sector; many describe how analytics and artificial intelligence can be used in the logistics sector to achieve higher optimization. Currently, significant research has been done in optimizing logistics operations. Nevertheless, with the explosive volume of historical data being produced by the logistics operations of an organization, there is a great opportunity to learn valuable insights from the data accumulated over time for more long-term strategic planning. To develop the logistics operations in an organization, the use of historical data is essential to understand the trends in the operations. For example, regular maintenance planning and resource allocation based on trends are long-term activities that will not affect logistics operations immediately but can affect the business’s strategic planning in the long run. A predictive analysis technique employed on historical data of logistics can narrow down conclusions based on the future trends of logistics operations. Thus, the technique can be used to prevent the disruption of the supply chain.

Green cloud computing is part of endeavors to develop sustainable data center ecosystems and, more importantly, nurtures a mindful alignment between environmental considerations and our cloud computing practices. This view is reinforced with the requirements of resource and energy minimization, as well as clean computing. This paper surveys the current practices, strategies, and significant aspects involved in moving towards green cloud computing, providing energy-efficient data centers. The energy efficiency criteria call for unified strategies in power-proportional components, big data storage, server systems, and power supply units to save holistic energy. In addition, there are significant challenges in moving towards green cloud computing for service providers and data center operators. We address various energy-conscious resource management technologies and discuss the importance of developing innovative, effective green management solutions. Data centers are ubiquitous but inherently more conspicuous to begin to see the urgency of making them sustainable in our ecological environment. With this in mind, this paper encapsulates the multidimensional issues and increased complexities of bringing up green solutions in cloud computing practices and provides guidance and potential strategies. We outline, realign, and insist on adopting strategies in practice not only from the technical aspect but also in strengthening partnerships and investigating strategies to further dissect challenges, converge solutions, and consider our impact in even more areas of study.

Innovations in computing and communication technologies are reshaping finance. The seismic changes are casting uncertainty about the future of financial services. On one hand, fintech evangelists project a rosy future, asserting that the fast-moving algorithms can deliver low-cost financial services intuitively, customized to meet robust consumer expectations. On the other hand, many finance veterans fret that the traditional banking model could disintermediate, bleeding banks via a ‘death by a thousand cuts’, reducing them to passive portfolio holders with no direct customer relationship, eclipsed by digital giants which use their enormous treasure troves of customer data to offer banking as an added service with nearly free cost. Amidst the upbeat technological promises and apocalyptic forebodings, there are two constant, mostly agreed-upon, truths. The first is the vital importance of data. Advances in the internet, cloud computing, and record-keeping technologies are producing an ‘exponential growth in the volume and detail of data’. Some of this big data are personal information. Smartphones are deployed in almost all developed and emerging economies, serving as little spies; tracking, recording location histories, social networks, and app usage of their unsuspecting owners; often with a great degree of precision. ‘People are walking data-factories’ in this ‘mobile digital society’. Data are the fermentation of these global exchanges, electronic commerce and communication, and financial transactions. To just take Facebook as an example, it shares 30 million people a day through updates and posts, hosting personal information on 2.23 billion users. To the alarm of the uninformed public, much of this information is available for commercial harvest. The second constant is the rise of intelligent solutions. Consumers today—be it disclosed or not—are fed tailored clothes, music, film, holiday packages—almost anything you like, notably dynamic pricing, varying in accordance with individual profiles, or personalized search results. The availability of powerful computers has enabled comparable applications that are intended to make the system more responsive to their customer profiles and desires, or to capitalize competitive business possibilities. Such changes will transform the financial industry and occupy a prominent position among the mechanisms of policy competition, reshaping the way in which financial services are bestowed and led on the demand side.

Advances of wearables, sensors, smart devices, and electronic health records have generated patient-oriented longitudinal data sources that are analyzed with advanced analytical tools to generate enormous opportunities to understand patient health conditions and needs, transforming healthcare significantly from conventional paradigms to more patient-specific and preventive approaches. Artificial intelligence (AI) with a machine learning methodology is prominently considered as it is uniquely suitable to derive predictions and recommendations from complex patient datasets. Recent studies have shown that precise data aggregation methods exhibit an important role in the precision and reliability of clinical outcome distribution models. There is an essential need to develop an effective and powerful multifunctional machine learning platform to enable healthcare professionals to comprehend challenging biomedical multifactorial datasets to understand patient-specific scenarios and to make better clinical decisions, potentially leading to the optimist patient outcomes. There is a substantial drive to develop the networking and interoperability of clinical systems, the laboratory, and public health. These steps are delivered in concert with efforts at enabling usefully analytic tools and technologies for making sense of the eruption of overall patient’s information from various sources. However, the full efficiency of this technology can only be eliminated when ethical, legal, and social challenges related to reducing the privacy of healthcare information are successfully absorbed. Public and media are to be informed about the capabilities and limitations of the technologies and the paramount to be balanced is juvenile public healthcare data privacy debate. While this is ongoing, the measures have been progressed from patient data protection abuses for progress to realize the full potential of AI technology for hosting the health system, with benefits for all stakeholders. Any protection program should be based on fairness, transparency, and a full commitment to data privacy. On-going innovative systems that use AI to manage clinical data and analyzes are proposed. These tools can be used by healthcare providers, especially in defining specific scenarios related to biomedical data management and analysis. These platforms ensure that the significant and potentially predictive parameters associated with the diagnosis, treatment, and progression of the disease have been recognized. With the systematic use of these solutions, this work can contribute to the realization of noticeable improvements in the provision of real-time, personalized, and efficient medicine at a reduced cost [1].

This paper includes the impacts of the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and other emerging technologies in the vehicle production sector, digital connectivity, and sustainable transport system. Automated and intelligent transportation for safe, efficient, and sustainable transport systems will be stressed. Key factors to promote automated or connected vehicles including connected environment, integration of all transport modes, advanced cooperative systems, and policy enforcement will be discussed. This paper contains the Axiomatic Categorisation Framework (AFS) for the dynamic alignment in a collection of disparate functions in cyber-physical systems (CPS). Developed system is enhanced for breaking the rules within autonomous vehicles (AV). It means the human personal injury is inevitable while the vehicle does not do any rules. Especially in complicated traffic situations, many of the constraints are mutually exclusive, and there is no way to obey all of them at a time. Also, there is no way to ensure that the self-driving vehicle has priority in all situations [1]. Public distrust in AV systems has to be increased and the investment in this technology has to slow down. Instead, a human driver should be partially responsible for operation. The development of a driver-behavior assistant (DBA) system is proposed, which should be able to break the rules for the distances of such slow development. It is intended to be effective in non-deterministic situations while maintaining the safety of the AV and those involved in the event. A driver's actions would not only be acceptable as a driving strategy but also would be predictable, and therefore other road users could unambiguously react.

For years, risk assessment and financial calculations have been based on mathematical, statistical, and actuarial studies of existing and historical data. The manual process of building datasets, processing data, deriving trends, identifying periodicities, and analyzing diagnostics is extremely expensive and time-consuming. With the automation and evolution of data science technologies, organizations are now bringing in niche data, such as unstructured data, which contain more disruptive and precise signals for decision-making—thereby making predictions and derivative valuations more robust. This discussion highlights how investment decision-making and financial ecosystem activities are set to be transformed with the power of technical automation, data, and artificial intelligence. A noted trend in the financial investment sector is that financial valuations are highly predictive and highly non-linear in long-term occurrences. To understand these robust evolving signals and execute profitable strategies upon them, the investment management process needs to be very dynamic, open, smart, and technically deep. However, with current manual processes, reaching a high-end asset prediction still seems like a shot in the dark. In parallel, open and democratically developed financial ecosystems query relatively riskless premium opportunities in high-finance valuation and perception. The process of evolving financial ecosystems or the use of automated tools and data to move to unique frontiers could make high-yield profiting opportunities very safe and entirely riskless. Financial economic theories and realistic approximation models support this.

Enhancing Regulatory Compliance in Finance through Big Data Analytics and AI Automation

This paper shows how Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation facilitate regulatory compliance in Finance. Regulatory compliance is essential in helping institutions to mitigate reputational, litigation, and financial risk. Existing literature reveals several preconditions for compliance. However, much of the literature has adopted an internal view of compliance without considering external regulatory frameworks. This research draws on the cognitive model of regulation that looks at regulatory compliance as a social construct. It uses a triangulation research method comprising literature review, interview of trade compliance experts, and questionnaire survey of compliance practitioners to understand how regulation affects compliance and what role ICTs play in implementing compliance. The findings of this study present a regulatory compliance framework comprising four cognitive stages and a conceptual regulatory compliance system that presents how BDA and AI automation are applied to mitigate regulatory complexity and enhance regulatory compliance. The conceptual regulatory compliance system shows how BDA and AI enable institutions to dynamically assess regulatory risk, automatically monitor compliance, and intelligently predict risk violations mitigating regulatory complexity and preventing producing unnecessary documents. It provides theoretical contributions to understanding regulatory evolution and compliance and practical implications for understanding how regulation evolves to be more complicated and elements of a regulatory compliance system mitigate proliferating regulations. Additionally, it provides avenues for future research into the relationship between competing regulatory mandates and how institutions cope with that. Regulations are important for ensuring compliance and governance in finance and to curb systemic risk. Complying with regulations is difficult due to their growing volume, complexity, and fragmentation. Institutions use large-scale Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), such as Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation, to monitor compliance and mitigate regulatory complexity. However, less is known about how firms comply with regulation. Most literature does not thoroughly investigate regulatory elements nor explicitly relate them to compliance.
